you need in
This house offered a complete homely experience. The layout was perfect for our two teenagers, our daughter especially enjoyed having her own living quarters upstairs. There was everything you could possibly need for your stay. We had a lot of fun in the pool and sunbathing, the garden is lovely and secluded. The village is beautiful, we enjoyed evening strolls down to the local bar.We booked onto an English speaking tour around the chateau, our guide Anne was very informative and the chateau itself is stunning. Jane was the perfect host, the information sent before our stay was very thorough, as well as the information at the property. We absolutely loved our stay and were sad to leave. Would definitely recommend and book for a return visit.
Myself and Elaine (granny and grandad),our son and daughter and their partners and our two grandchildren had a great week here. The weather was very hot and the swimming pool is superb-large for this type of property. The house itself is what I'd call "rustic" or perhaps "french chic", and it is unspoilt from much of its original features which give it its uniqueness. We were in touch with the house keeper for a couple of things and she was very helpful and responsive.. The kitchen and its facilities worked very well. The owner in England is also very approachable and helpful. The lounge was nice and cool. The layout of the bedrooms suited us perfectly. Juliac Le Grand is a lovely village with two restaurants and shops and a superb chateau. I'd recommend a stay here for any Family.

Relaxing holidays
I really recommend the property Maison au Coin. We were two families (10 persons). We enjoyed the house. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Ww just get there and immediately we get the key and enter in th e house. We received some advise and a short tour into the house by Carol(who is in charge of the maintenance of the property. The house has a good variety of books and good set of cds to enjoy a bit of music. \the swimming pool was great and clean. \our kids loved. House the possibility to make barbecue and to have a good time in the garden area near the pool. THe house is also well located and close to a beautiful Castle Jumilac Le GRand. I recommend this property to have a good time for relax and also to enjoy different activities in the surroundings and closer cities.

We are so pleased that you had a good time and that everything was to your satisfaction. You were great guests!
Schöne Àlteres Haus in Jumilhac-le-Grand

We're so pleased you enjoyed your stay and we'd love to have you back!
We had a lovely couple of weeks in Jumilhac with the house being in an ideal location with a bakery, butchery, shop and a couple of bars/restaurants within walking distance. The Chateau is worth a look around around and the network of off road tracks gives a good variety for running/walking/cycling - as long as you donât hills. The house is well equipped with great views and the pool got a lot of use.

Thanks for your comments. We did resolve the internet issue as quickly as we possibly could so that the Internet was fully functional again in the second week - hopefully the compensation we agreed went some way to mitigate this. Unfortunately the new mattresses we ordered werenât able to be delivered before the summer season but will arrive in September.
House was exactly like listing. Communication with Jane the owner was excellent. So much space so our 3 teenage boys could be apart from each other when neededđ pool is amazing and is cleaned regularly by a lovely French man. Table tennis table was used lots. Canât fault it at all. The area is so quiet and peaceful but you can walk to the village centre for croissants etc in the morning and is only short ride away from lovely French towns. Will definitely be back.
We had a wonderful stay at janeâs property in Jumilac Le Grande. The little action was perfect; a very short stroll to the local baker, butcher, tourist information, small supermarket, etc... The Chateau is incredibly beautiful and is at the end of the road, and other larger towns with markets, shops and restaurants are a ten minute car journey. The house was ideal for us; 6 adults and 2 children aged 5 and 2 years. It was safe, and functional with everything you could/would need hand should you need it. The pool was semi heated too, so it was never to cold to go for a swim, and there was a TV with all kids channels, and even toys for them to enjoy during the stay.
We had a wonderful week and would recommend the house, Jane, and the location to anyone!

Gorgeous property in beautiful location
My family aged from 1-70 years thoroughly enjoyed this property. Ample space and my children aged 1 and 4 loved the attic playroom space. It was great that some toys were there, they loved it! The bedrooms were plenty and very comfortable and the pool was amazing. Jane has everything you would need in the house and she was amazing to correspond with.
The house is right in the centre of the village with the village shops a short walk away.
Beautiful places and activities were not far from the property and I would highly recommend this house for others to enjoy. Thank you.

Lovely peaceful house for a great relaxing getaway
First impressions were that we had chosen well as house was all we hoped for with everything we needed for a well earned rest - even some foodstuffs we had forgotten to buy. Spent a whole week lounging around the pool or inside when it got too hot reading, eating and sleeping. Great location as it is not too far from places to visit but remote enough to be away from the crowds. Village baker, butcher and shop more than adequate but nearby supermarket had anything else. Enjoyed walking to collect a loaf each day and the sunday market had lovelt fresh fruit and local cheeses. Euro16 and learning poker occupied most evenings and Brexit made for some interesting discussions locally - kept our head down for a day. Took the owners advice and went kayaking at Brantom which we all loved and the meal by the river after was enjoyed by all and great value. Spent idle hours playing table tennis but sadly I got thrashed by my whole family - I blame the wine. All in all had a wonderful time and will certainly go back.

About the host
Hosted by Jane Stanbridge
This has been my family's holiday home for over 23 years in which time our four children have grown up and have started to visit by themselves with friends.
We're in the middle of the village with easy access to all amenities, yet completely private, and the children have always been able to roam in complete safety. Being able to take a few euros and buy the bread for breakfast from the boulangerie built their confidence in French from a very young age!
We've had holidays here just as one family, with other families, as groups of adults, and as groups of young adults with equal success.
Why they chose this property
I first stayed in the village as a child with my French pen-friend's family. When holidaying in the area with friends many years later in 2001, we visited the village and I fell in love with the area all over again.
Over a bottle of wine (as you do), we bought the house and have never regretted it!. We were never tempted to look for a barn style property away from habitation as one of the luxuries for us is to be able to do most things without jumping in the car and the children have always had the freedom to roam in complete safety as I used to with my French pen-friend when we were children.
What makes this property unique
Privacy in a fantastic safe village location with the convenience of being walking distance from all amenities. Spacious house where adults and children can all find space away from each other when they need it.
