The property is in a great location, very close walking distance to the centre of town and the beach! The house has great facilities, it has everything you need for a perfect stay. Lovely, comfortable decor.
My family visited for the week and had a lovely time. Communication with the host was easy, and the house was exactly what we needed. I definitely recommend this house.

Thank you for your review, John. It was a pleasure to host your family over Thanksgiving.
The house is a clean, comfortable, well-appointed and perfectly located home. Vivien was so helpful when we had questions about the town, sightseeing, etc. I hope to be able to return again someday!
My wife and I spent 8 glorious nights in Dornoch at 8 The Glen cottage. It was more than spacious enough for the two of us with all the modern comforts and conveniences. The location was perfect for accessing the town and sites situated in and around Dornoch. We would easily choose to stay there again.
This is a wonderful property in the heart of Dornoch. It is surrounded by plenty of bars, restaurants, interesting shops, along with a small mini mart and a larger Cooperative. We were able to find everything we needed to enjoy meals in. The rental is more than spacious and provided a comfortable base to explore the highlands.

We had a wonderful stay in Dornoch, The Glen is a great place to stay, clean, comfortable, spacious and very well equip, including good wifi. It is in a great location a couple of minutes walk from anything you need, there are some lovely independent shops and pubs in Dornoch, including a nice Chinese takeaway. The beach and golf course are also just a short walk away. We visited nearby Dunrobin Castle which is worth a visit, they also do a Falconry displays. Overall great stay and would recommend.

Thank you very much for your review, Adele. We’re so pleased you enjoyed The Glen and all that Dornoch area has to offer
We loved this place. Dornoch is a wonderful little town that we have been to many times before and thoroughly enjoy. The house is in town, and thus allowed us to walk everywhere that we wanted to go. The house is also only a short two block walk to Royal Dornoch Golf, which we also really appreciated. And - we really appreciated Vivien’s
quick and helpful responses to questions. We would definitely stay here again.
PS - during our stay we had seagulls nesting and giving birth in the backyard. While it was fun to see the baby seagulls, it did keep us from using the table in the backyard. Fortunately, however there is a much larger yard area that is part of the property and was a great place to sit and enjoy…

Lovely cottage, right in the heart of Dornoch. Everything is nearby, and all the facilities ie restaurants, pubs, bakers, butchers, and grocery store were very good. We were in the area for golf and the cottage was geared for drying and washing ! We would definitely stay there again!

Thanks, Andy. Glad you enjoyed Hogmanay in Dornoch.
Great property in the centre of town, convenient for everything. Parking no issue. Bedrooms are spacious and beds are super comfortable. WiFi good. Little treats good. Amenities perfect. Bathrooms probably due for updating, but don’t let that put you off. Would definitely stay again. If only it wasn’t so popular!

Thank you so much for your lovely review, Carol. I’ll pass on your comments to our Housekeeper , Karen, who works very hard to make the house clean and safe.
This is a very spacious holiday home with all the facilities you could possibly need. Ideally situated in a quiet spot but within 5 minutes walk of shops, bars, restaurants and the seafront. Dornoch is a pretty town in a great location for touring the Scottish highlands. The larger town of Tain is a short drive away should you need a major supermarket and cheaper petrol. Most places have re-opened with the exception of on the very north coast road where some cafes and shops are still closed, so plan ahead. The owner of the property was very helpful and gave clear instructions for check in and checkout. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you

About the host
Hosted by David and Vivien
For 15 years The Glen has been a much loved holiday home for three generations of the same family. Most of the family are golfers. The one who isn’t is an artist who also enjoys gardening.
The Glen has also been let to holiday makers for 15 years and we have visitors returning year after year.
Why they chose this property
We chose The Glen for its perfect location, between Dornoch Square and Royal Dornoch Golf course. The garden has two separate gated areas, one with a terrace and lawn off the kitchen, and the other has a large grass area suitable for children’s games. There is off road parking for 3 cars.
What makes this property unique
A light and spacious house with views of the garden from all the ground floor windows. The surrounding garden makes the house private even though it is in the centre of Dornoch. From the upstairs windows there is a distant view of the Struie Golf Course and the sea beyond. The other bedroom has a view of Dornoch Cathedral tower. Stand at the patio doors in the lounge and you can see the Glenmorangie Distillery across the estuary in Tain!
