OUR NEW CLEANING PROCEDURES FOR COVID-19
Our cleaning staff are the first people to access the property after a guest has stayed, so we first need to make sure that they are safe from infection.
We keep up to date with information by recognised health organisations The World Health Organisation and the NHS so we can keep ourselves updated with how the disease is spread and effectively protect our cleaners and our guests at all times.
Our cleaning staff wear disposable gloves throughout a whole property clean as well as taking all the steps below to help slow down and prevent the spread of COVID-19 within our properties.
1. Our priority is safety, not efficiency.
2. Using disinfectant, our cleaners wipe down high touch points such as light switches, lamps, cupboard handles, door handles, window latches, banisters, remote controls, and thermostats as it is extremely likely that a previous guest touched these points during their stay.
3. We put all cutlery, crockery and cooking implements through the dishwasher again whether it has been used or not. This limits cross infection from touching items even if they weren’t used.
4. We continue to disinfect high-contamination sites such as the toilet, basin, shower and bath, and rubbish bin and any toilet brushes.
5. We make sure all cleaning staff wipe down all appliances, electronics, and amenities that are provided such as the kettle, iron, vacuum cleaner, hairdryer etc. as it is possible the previous guest has touched these.
6. All soap dispensers, bathroom toiletries, cleaning products and equipment or other items that are for guest use are wiped down and disinfected or replaced with new.
7. Between each guest we launder all guest linens and towels whether they were used or not as again this minimises the risk of cross infection.
8. Just before our cleaner leaves the property they re disinfect the door handles and all entry methods (lock box keypad, sets of keys etc.)
9. During these exceptional times our cleaners are expected to take extra time to clean each property and disinfect thoroughly between guests.
10. Our cleaners are thoughtful about what might need to be disinfected and cleaned at the property as they are aware our guests are counting on them to prevent infection – and that their work is of a high value, especially in these times.
Guests can access the entire house and gardens.
The house is fully serviced and will be cleaned weekly, with a change of linen and towels included. Bin day is every Thursday with alternate recycling and grey bins. Composting waste collection on the same day as the grey household waste bin. All bins are stored in the front garden.

We had a lovely stay in this very well equipped, and well located property. The hosts had thought of everything that may be needed and there was excellent communication in the run up to and during the stay. The house was in a lovely location, close to a pretty park and walkable distance to the centre on a really pretty and quiet street.

The location of Walsingham House is certainly special, and we're glad you enjoyed its proximity to the park and the easy walk to the city centre. It's a lovely, quiet street, and we're pleased that you found it to be peaceful.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your positive experience. We hope to welcome you back to Walsingham House in the future!
Well appointed comfortable house near Winchester centre.
A lovely 3 night stay in a well set up house with three bedrooms with three bathrooms, with three good friends. We spent our days enjoying the interests of Winchester, the Cathedral, the Great Hall, the Water Meadows, the old streets, and the shops. Plenty of exercise walking up and down through the park from the house to the centre of the City, and good meals out.

Good - very well appointed and designed.
Family of 6 and 3 generations. Definitely not for mobility-impaired guests. Need wifi boosters in all bedrooms. Overall, very convenient for exploring Winchester.

Thank you for taking time to write a review of your stay at Walsingham house for a week in June with your family of 6, including 3 generations.
It is good to know you found the house was very well appointed and designed, it has plenty of space for everyone to relax and spread out.
We hope you found the kitchen was well-stocked with everything you needed, and the bedrooms were all comfortable and spacious.
We agree the only downside is that the house is that it is not suitable for mobility-impaired guests, as there are a lot of stairs and the bedrooms are on the lower ground floor and 1st floor - so stairs either way for when you go to bed - the saving grace is there is a toilet on each floor for night times but you do need to use the stairs during the day.
We are sorry to hear that you also found that the wifi signal was not very strong in some of the bedrooms, but that the wifi boosters sorted this out.
It is good to know that overall, you had a very enjoyable stay at Walsingham House and would definitely recommend it to other families.
Thank you.
Pros:
Well-appointed and designed
Plenty of space
Well-stocked kitchen
Comfortable bedrooms
Convenient location for exploring Winchester
Cons:
Not suitable for mobility-impaired guests
Weak wifi signal in some bedrooms unless boosters are used
Overall:
We had a very enjoyable stay at Walsingham House and would definitely recommend it to other families.
The property is only 10 minutes walk to Winchester High Street. Parking on site was a bonus. Lovely house with all amenities provided. Back garden was also nice to sit out. Good broadband speeds. Would definitely come again.
Lots of room and masses of equipment. Very comfortable. Cool in an extremely hot week.
Arrangements were very well managed and communicated by the hosts. We were so pleased, after our booking had to be cancelled last year due to Covid, to be able to stay this year.
The outdoor space is attractive and well planned with plenty of room for outdoor eating.
Parking for 2 cars/ road access is fine but quite tight.

Thank you for re booking after the pandemic interrupted your original plans to stay with us and thank you for taking the time to write a review.
An ideal location. Walked into the beautiful city and along River Itchen. Play park for the little one over the road. Crab woods a short drive to walk and explore.
