Our family of 8 has been traveling to Blue Ridge every fall for the past decade, and this house was the best we've ever stayed in. Its proximity to both hiking trails and downtown can't be beat, its layout made for an easy sharing of space, it has everything to make out stay comfortable and fun, and though it's still a bit scary to drive up such steep roads for us southern Floridians, we appreciated that we never had to do it on gravel!
Great location way up in the woods and the place has so much potential but i think its been abused overtime so don't expect any bells or whistles here. One burner on the stove worked, hot tub was broke, only one burner on the grill worked, shower doors broken, and zero response from the host via the app or phone number. Its a place to sleep only, if you plan on spending time at the cabin, cooking, hosting, etc, its not the best for that. Very disappointed but we didn't let it ruin our vacation.

Terrible vacation
This was the worst experience ever. Owner or host never fix the issue. Inside the house was 85 degrees and nobody fix the AC. Called and message with no answer. DO NOT RENT THIS PROPERTY. Really bad service from host or owner

Response from VrboOwner on 10 August 2022
Unfortunately, there was a major power outage in Blue Ridge the day Fabian checked in and it knocked out the AC unit. I tried everything I could to get the HVAC repair folks in but given that it was a weekend and a lot of cabins in the area had the same problem, it just wasn’t possible to fix it during their stay. I offered to buy Fabian fans and refund his booking if he wished to stay elsewhere but he decided to stay in the cabin anyways and refused all other assistance. Unfortunately his group then threw a major party at the cabin and completely trashed it, causing damage which required the cleaning company to charge double their rates.
He then lied to VRBO saying he checked out early and wanted a full refund, to which VRBO denied on their own behalf. This was an unfortunate situation and I think Fabian would be more suited for a hotel setting, rather than a vacation rental.
This property provided entertainment for adults as well as children. There are two living areas and the one downstairs has video games and a pool table. There are two decks, one with a hot tub and another with swings and a grill. There is a fire pit for entertainment at night. The beds were all very comfortable. One note on the bunkbed room – there is no door on this room so if children are sleeping in there and someone is out in the common area, it can get noisy for them. The property is very close to Blue Ridge so if you want to go into town it’s a pretty short drive. there was great communication with the owner about the questions that we had, which made it very easy for planning!
This was our third year staying at the Black Bear Lodge. We love the location of this cabin and it fulfills the needs of our family. Hot tub and pool table/game room are perfect for keeping the grandkids happy.
We had a lovely time. Great property, good for families. Very comfortable. Be careful coming in thought, don't go up the road that is gravel/dirt. There is another road that is paved. Waze sent us the wrong way, Apple maps got it right. Great hiking recommended by manager, Fall Branch Falls. Also, happy to see house cleaned and sanitized, and in downtown Blue Ridge most places required masks, and offered outdoor seating. We only went into town once, the rest of the time we just enjoyed the cabin.

Perfect for our get away!
The house is beautiful and roomy! We enjoyed our 3-night stay there. Plenty of room, plenty to do at the house and close by. Beds were good quality. Kitchen was well-stocked and the gas stove was wonderful! Ice maker did not work...even when we lowered the arm on the inside. Gas grill was a great tool....needed a decent cleaning. The house could have been cleaner....rugs needed to be washed, kitchen had some bugs. Floors didn't seem to be swept/mopped too well. I guess I have high expectations of cleanliness when the cleaning fee is $175.
Overall, we would definitely stay here again.

Great cabin in Blue Ridge!
My family of 8 (kids and grandkids) had a wonderful time. Cabin was clean and well appointed. Plenty of room for all ages and lots to do while staying. Watching sunset from porch swing was so relaxing! There were a few minor issues which the owner is aware of and addressing.
Make sure to walk up the hill to the 360* mountain top view and walk the easy ridge line trail. Would definitely stay there again!

Perfect stay and everything was as advertised
We were there for a family trip with my in-laws and we had grandparents and their two kids with their families. The rooms were perfect and the cabin set up was great with the basement serving as the playground for the three kids while the adults enjoyed the upstairs without any noise. The beds were very comfortable and kitchen was fun to cook on with the gas stove. I would recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking for some get away time in the North Georgia Mountains. Check in and check out was perfect and the owner was very responsive to any questions we had.
