Choo Choo Mansion is our wonderful seaside holiday let, boasting beautiful sea views and an unbeatable location in the heart of Dawlish town centre — complete with parking. Leave your cares—and your car—at home: we’re less than a minute’s walk from Dawlish train station, the sandy beach, and the bustling high street. It’s the perfect getaway for families, friends, or a romantic retreat.
The town is filled with amusements, restaurants, and charming independent shops. Soak up the true ambience of Dawlish with its sandy beach, ideal for sandcastle building, crabbing, and paddling with little ones. Stroll along the water’s edge or enjoy romantic sunsets over the sea. The town centre has everything you need: supermarkets, cafés, restaurants, amusements, boutique shops, cake shops, and delicious ice-cream vendors.
Inside Choo Choo Mansion:
Our holiday home is a Grade II listed townhouse with parking for up to three cars. As you enter, you’re greeted by a spacious hallway. To the left sits a large reception room with a corner sofa, 50-inch Freeview TV, open fireplace, soft lighting, DVD player, and a selection of films—perfect for cosy evenings after a day at the beach.
Continuing along the hallway, you’ll find a convenient downstairs WC. Further along is the dining room, furnished with a wooden table seating up to eight guests—an ideal space for relaxed evening meals together.
From the dining room, turn left into our shabby-chic kitchen, fully equipped with a large 8-ring cooker and double oven, Smeg fridge-freezer, washing machine, coffee machine, and all necessary crockery, utensils, pots, and pans.
The kitchen overlooks the walled garden, where a single step takes you into the outdoor dining area with a table for eight and soft ambient lighting—perfect for al-fresco meals and evening drinks.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
A short staircase—broken into small flights, ideal for older guests—leads to five double bedrooms:
First landing:
A spacious double bedroom overlooking the garden. Next to the main bathroom featuring a new copper bath and a large separate shower.
Next landing:
A large super-king bedroom with sea views and a TV for cosy nights in bed.
Upper landing:
Two further double bedrooms—one with a king-size bed overlooking the garden, and the other a standard double.
Top landing:
Our largest bedroom with a super-king bed, sea views, and a large Freeview TV.
With a second bathroom with WC, basin, and shower, functioning as a private ensuite.
A double inflatable mattress is also available for additional guests.
Guest Requirements:
No single-sex groups / hen or stag parties
All-adult groups must be aged 25+
Family groups with children are welcome
No shoes on the carpets
No pets permitted
Rental Agreement
No smoking in the property
Please Note:
A £500 security deposit is required and fully refundable within 7 days of departure, provided:
No damage is caused beyond normal wear and tear
No charges are incurred for illegal activity, pets, or additional services
All rubbish is disposed of and dishes are cleaned
All charges incurred during the stay are settled before departure
No linens are lost or damaged
No early arrival or late departure occurs
The renter is not evicted by the owner or local law enforcement
House Rules:
Cancellations: No refunds are given under any circumstances.
Maximum occupancy: 10 guests + 2 children.
Rates include a one-time linen and towel setup.
Any booking made under false pretence will be forfeited, including deposit and rental payments, and entry will be refused.
Any exceptions must be agreed in writing in advance.
Important Notes
Please flush toilet paper only. No feminine products may be flushed. Blockages caused by prohibited items may incur charges of up to £200.
Our maximum liability for losses resulting from breach of contract is limited to the value of your week’s stay plus 10%, and any loss that could reasonably have been foreseen at the time of booking.
Guests are strongly advised to take out travel insurance.
Holidays are non-transferable under any circumstances.
