The cottage was very homely, filled with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. With special touches that obviously mean a lot to the owners, which made it all the more special as you felt like you were being trusted to care . I especially enjoyed the art work that was displayed in every room, my favourite being a little oil painting in the dinning room. All the bedrooms were comfortable and spacious , and the kitchen was well stocked. The cottage is situated just a few minutes walk away from the dunes and the beautiful sweeping beach. We drove about 5 minutes away to Horsley Gap to see the seals, fantastic sight, so many of them. We were there for a long weekend to celebrate our daughter’s 40th so didn’t do a great deal, but it was such a relaxing time. We ate at the Fisherman’s Return which was opposite the cottage, for our Sunday lunch, unfortunately it was a bit disappointing but it didn’t ruin the weekend. Poppy tea room though more than made up for it, as we had a really tasty, hearty breakfast there on the Monday, departure day. Really recommend the full English breakfast. The staff were very friendly and the cafe was dog friendly too, there was even dog treats on the menu ! All in all a lovely, relaxing stay, thank you Owen would love to return some day !,
Beautiful location ,pretty cottage we enjoyed walking our labradoodle every morning at winterton beach .Lovely to walk on the sand dunes looking on the beach watching the seals.
A lovely clean spacious cottage - everything we needed was there - close to pub - the little tea room and the beach is a must - got no complaints about this property we were informed in detail what was required and where everything is - looking to book again soon.

Perfect location, but not ideal
The property location is ideal in a small village close to the beach. Cleanliness in the bathrooms and kitchen was very good, however the living rooms had a doggy smell which was engrained into the furnishings.
We had a brilliant time staying in Owen’s house for a few nights. The house is very easy to find and the check in process was very easy with the use of a lockbox.
The house is very nicely decorated throughout and the living room was very cosy and well equipped for our group of four adults.
The location is great with a shop up the road, a lovely cafe/tea rooms and a pub literally outside the door!
The beach is truly a 5 minute walk away with the dogs absolutely loved and the hose outside made clean ups after the beach super easy.
There were some small touches in the house too which were very thoughtful such as the nightlights on the landing - making going to the loo in the night that bit safer - and the selection of board games.
The few things I have to note that were slightly disappointing is that the kettle was full of limescale, which is alway something I check coming from a hard water area myself. There was also a coffee machine but no pods provided and nowhere locally to get them from.
And the last small thing is that the windows didn’t open in the bedrooms. The house is clearly very well insulated so it got very very warm in the night despite our trip being at the end of September when the weather wasn’t overly warm.
All in all we had a great time!
We spent a lovely long weekend in this beautiful cottage. We were five adults and our dog and there was ample space for us all. The cottage was very well equipped and the location was perfect. A lovely pub just opposite, fish and chip shop round the corner, a well stocked shop and the beach barely minutes away. We will definitely return.
Our family of five had an absolutely wonderful stay at this charming cottage by the beach! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the picturesque setting — a beautiful thatched roof cottage that looks straight out of a storybook.
The cottage was spacious, cozy, and exceptionally well-maintained, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The interiors were thoughtfully decorated, combining classic styles with modern amenities, making it feel like a true home away from home.
The location couldn't have been better. Just a short walk from the beach, pub, shop, and fish and chip shop. Our little boy had a fantastic time, and loved the local park which was only a short walk away.
We highly recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a relaxing beachside getaway. It's perfect for families, and we can't wait to come back for another stay!
Thank you!
Feel free to adjust any details as needed!
Such a perfect home for even the youngest member of the family. Great location and such a stunning beach. Lots of place's to see and eat at.

Good location in a lovely village but not aware that there would be scaffolding at the property as we did not receive the Email with this information.
We stayed when it was very hot weather and unable to open the windows very much due to scaffolding.
Overall a lovely stay was disappointing to have scaffolding up and work being done .

Excellent location for beach walks, very well equipped cottage and dog friendly. Only one small downside - the lounge seating; great presentation but furniture lacks comfort and not an area all 6/7 guest can all relax in together.
That being said, loved everything about the property (even though it was being re-thatched!)and would definitely revisit.
Had a great week staying in this house. It's set up well with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The area has terrific dog walks, either across the countryside, the dunes or gorgeous beaches. In fact, the whole town seems to have dogs !
Lovely stay at this cottage. Clean and well equipped. Pub directly opposite, fish and chip shop and small supermarket very close by. Beautiful beaches, very lucky to see many seals at Horsey
Immaculate cottage with everything you could possibly need. Everything high quality, especially the mattresses and bedding. Kitchen fantastically equipped with everything you could possibly need. One tiny, tiny gripe and it’s a matter of personal taste. We would have preferred another comfy sofa as we found the chairs very uncomfortable (we are ladies of a “certain age”!). Overall would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

We have stayed here before and enjoyed it. A bit of a bugbear on this trip was the creaking and stretching of the building at night which was sufficient to wake us.
Cottage was lovely and location was great. local beach and walking trails is what we thoroughly enjoyed.
The cottage accommodates all well but it wasn't the cleanest off cottages. There was inserts in the house when we arrived, cobwebs around windows and walls, etc. The shower soap tray was broken, the toilet was blocked (even though fixed within 24 hours), there weren't enough toilet rolls for 5 adults over 3 nights (i think 3 were provided in total but more did get provided after asking). These are cosmetic things that can easily be resolved but only thing all guests were too keen about was the quality of mattresses and pillows. Seem to be on the cheaper side and feel they can at least upgrade these for more comfort. Overall, the garden was lovely, the kitchen caters for all and has all utensils and table also accommodates 6 or 7 adults / children. It was an enjoyable experience par the discomfort of the mattresses and pillows in all rooms.
Great cottage to stay in, Winterton on Sea was a great place. The beach was beautiful the weather was great while we were there which was an added bonus. The local pub was just across the road.
The cottage had every thing you could have wanted we enjoyed a lovely few days away.

The cottage is in a wonderful location, short walk to the beach, pub across the road and the Hermanus holiday camp a short walk where you can eat or go for a drink. The cottage is fab everything you need. We had a fab time.
We have just come home from a wonderful weekend at the above cottage. The whole process from booking to our stay was very smooth. Owen was very responsive to our needs. The cottage is a charming thatched cottage, very sympathetically and tastefully decorated throughout. The kitchen is well equipped with all basic needs. We were a group of 5 adults, so a downstairs shower came in handy. One thing to note is that the stairs are divided midway into 2 segments with the master bedroom and second king bedrooms on one side and the twin bedroom and lovely spacious 4 piece family bathroom on the other side. As my husband is disabled we had to use the twin bedroom adjacent to the bathroom while the youngsters used the king bedrooms. It was not a problem though.
Winterton is a lovely romantic village with a wide sandy beach walking distance from the cottage. The village pub opposite (Fisherman’s Return) serves good hearty meals and was handy as we could walk home after a drink every evening. It is also very near the Broads. We had a wonderful day out and boat trip at Horning, a very pretty village with beautiful thatched cottages. Overall we had a very relaxing weekend.
Thank you Owen!
