I would highly recommend this property. The host was happy to answer my questions prior to arriving, and maintained great communication throughout our stay. The house was lovely, with plenty of room for the family to spread out. The shaded dock area was perfect for lounging and watching my 8 yo grandson swim and fish. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

The property was great and one of the better-priced places I saw for the area and my boys and I had a great time. But the real standout was the host, Susan. She went out of her way to accommodate us at every turn, ranging from needing to make some adjustments to our stay when we ran into issues leaving to almost driving 90 minutes from her own home to help us when the power went out at the property (even though it was a neighborhood-wide outage and had nothing to do with the house). Her communication was great, and was among the best hosts I've had for a vacation rental.

Susan was very flexible and responsive to our requests. The place was clean in a quiet family friendly neighborhood, close to boat rentals and parks. Kids enjoyed the games in the basement and hanging out by the lake. Would come back again another time !

This was our second stay with Susan at No Wake Cove. Once again, we had a wonderful stay and her home has everything you need for a fabulous lake vacation. The only downside, was VA was experiencing a drought which caused the lake levels to be extremely low and made it tricky to traverse a newly installed ladder to access the floating dock that our boat was docked at. However, Susan kept in communication with us to alleviate our concerns and to try to resolve any issues.

A beautiful home and stay

We spent a few low-key days in this home, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. The beautiful lake with access to kayaks, along with the nice deck and other furnishing, was all enjoyed, and we'd come back if our travels were this way again.

Our experience was unfortunately very different from the excellent reviews and what we expected based on the listing photos. While the lake setting is wonderful, we were extremely disappointed by the cleanliness and overall condition of the property.The house was filthy on arrival, with significant dust, dirt, cobwebs and spiders throughout. Kitchen surfaces and cabinets were dirty, and we had to clean the toilets before using them. The furniture was dirty and sagging, and the outdoor furniture, kayaks and boathouse were all quite worn and poorly maintained. The dock had deteriorated/rotten boards and several loose or upturned boards. Overall, the house and property were considerably more rundown than portrayed in the listing photos.We did not contact the owner immediately because our family had traveled from several locations, no comparable rentals were available, and the extent of the issues was far beyond something a quick cleaning visit could resolve without significantly disrupting our long-planned vacation. We ultimately left a day early.When we contacted the owner, she responded promptly and apologized. We understand that lake houses experience normal wear and tear, but at this price point we expected a clean, well-maintained property that reasonably reflected the listing. Unfortunately, that was not our experience.

Wonderful vacation home!

Could not have asked for anything more in a vacation rental. Clean, with all the amenities. The Maupins were wonderful hosts. Would highly recommend and look forward to staying here in the future!

Great Lake vacation

This was the perfect lake house for a long weekend in SML. Beautiful lake view. Well appointed with comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen, gameroom, kayaks, dock for fishing and more. Would stay again. The hosts were wonderful!

Early Spring Retreat

Perfect Location for Family & Friends
