About this property
Luxury house with amazing panoramic views, 5 min from coast, private pool
Awarded “UK Holiday Home of the Year” in 2022, welcome to Cedar Lodge. Nestled within large, enclosed grounds of approximately 1 acre, Cedar Lodge offers a peaceful, private country retreat. Conveniently located just 2 miles from the A55 and the coast, it provides easy access to the seaside towns of Colwyn Bay, Llandudno, and Conwy, making it an ideal base for exploring North Wales. Set in a delightful, elevated position, this luxury detached property is designed to take full advantage of uninterrupted views across open countryside to the Carneddau mountain range (part of Snowdonia), extending to the coast, with Puffin Island and the Isle of Anglesey taking centre stage. The glorious views also include both the Great Orme and Little Orme in Llandudno. Situated at the end of a quiet private cul-de-sac, yet only a 10-minute walk (half a mile) from the nearest pub and convenience store, and less than 2 miles from the beach, Cedar Lodge is the perfect location for your family getaway. There is plenty to do all year round, and in the warmer months, you can enjoy the private heated outdoor swimming pool.
Cedar Lodge is perfectly suited either as a base at the heart of the North Wales holiday region or as a secluded getaway where you can enjoy top-notch facilities while maintaining complete privacy. From every room, you can enjoy breath-taking views that let you escape from it all.
Accommodating up to 12 guests, Cedar Lodge is a popular choice for families and friends gathering for summer holidays or short breaks. It’s an excellent venue for special occasions and is ideal for multi-generational gatherings, with plenty to entertain visitors of all ages. Guests can enjoy the state-of-the-art cinema room, featuring an 86-inch screen, cinema-quality surround sound, and fully reclining cinema chairs for watching Netflix in full 4K resolution. Children will love the Xbox One X games console, while guests of all ages can enjoy the pool table, large, enclosed gardens, and private heated outdoor swimming pool.
The outdoor heated pool with integrated spa pool (available from 1st May to the end of September) is a standout feature. Completely private and offering stunning views, the pool is a major attraction for all ages. It’s perfect for games and relaxation, especially for children, and has powerful swim jets for those who want to “swim against the current.” The pool area includes comfortable loungers, a large double hammock, and a Polynesian-themed Tiki Bar, ideal for preparing poolside cocktails.
The property features 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (one en-suite), 2 cloakrooms with WC, a large, well-equipped kitchen, a dining room that comfortably seats 12, a spacious living room, and a beautiful conservatory with panoramic views. There is private parking for up to 5 vehicles, large lawns, patios, and a vast decked balcony with stunning views. All bedrooms offer magnificent countryside and distant sea views. The master bedroom is particularly impressive, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, a spacious marble-floored dressing room, and a double-sized bath with a large integrated bathroom TV, complete with Netflix.
Bedroom layout:
• Bedroom 1: Zip & link beds (king or two singles)
• Bedroom 2: Double bed
• Bedroom 3: Double bed
• Bedroom 4: King bed
• Bedroom 5 (lower ground floor): Zip & link beds (1 super-king plus 2 singles, or 4 separate singles). A cot is also available.
The living room, with floor-to-ceiling windows and panoramic views, is furnished with large, comfy sofas, a log burner, and soft lighting via table lamps and a dimmer switch. It includes a large TV with Sky TV and Netflix. Double doors lead to the dining room, which seats 12 and opens onto a massive two-tiered balcony. Outdoor dining and lounge seating are available for the entire household, along with a large gas barbecue for al fresco dining. A highchair is also available.
A stunning conservatory leads off the living room, overlooking the pool and offering superb country and coastal views. It also connects to the large balcony and serves as a peaceful retreat with comfy sofas.
The large kitchen boasts bespoke handmade ivory-painted wood units, granite countertops, a Belfast sink, a range cooker, a tall integrated fridge, a dishwasher, and a microwave. It includes country-style seating for six and offers panoramic sea and countryside views. You can also watch your favourite TV programs on Sky or Netflix while preparing food or having breakfast.
A separate large utility room provides a family washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board, and iron, along with a sink and cleaning supply storage. A rear door leads to an enclosed patio, gardens, and a washing line.
The attached double garage is accessible from the main house and includes a full-height freezer. It also serves as a large games room with a full-sized table tennis table, table football, and darts.
Fast Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, allowing you to stream movies or work remotely if needed.
Locally, there’s plenty to do, including countryside walks from the house and visits to the nearby Welsh Mountain Zoo. A short drive brings you to beautiful beaches, castles, National Trust properties, gardens, outdoor adventure activities, fishing, sailing, golf, and more. For dining, we highly recommend Bryn Williams' restaurant at Porth Eirias and the Pen-y-Bryn gastro pub, both just a short distance from the house.
If you’re seeking a peaceful retreat that still offers a fantastic holiday experience, Cedar Lodge has everything you need. The house is:
• Completely self-contained, with gated parking for up to 5 vehicles, located at the end of a private drive with no passing cars or pedestrians.
• Equipped with extensive entertainment facilities: a private heated swimming pool with adjoining Tiki Bar, a large secure garden, a cinema room, Xbox, pool table, table tennis, table football, and darts.
• Spacious enough for guests to spread out, with a large patio, expansive balconies, separate living and dining rooms, a conservatory, and large lawns for safe play.
• Fully equipped for self-catering, with a large kitchen, indoor dining for up to 12, and outdoor dining on the balcony, with a gas barbecue and comfortable lounge seating.
Please note:
• We do not accept stag or hen parties. Cedar Lodge is ideal for extended family groups but is not suitable for large groups of singles. Parties are not permitted.
• The property is located in a quiet residential area, and we ask that guests respect our neighbours by avoiding excessive noise. The limit of 12 guests at any time is strictly enforced.
• The accommodation spans three floors with several stairs, so it is not suitable for wheelchair users or guests with mobility issues.
• Motion-sensitive security cameras cover the driveway, front and back doors, side passage, and rear patio. These are not activated during guest stays. Noise-monitoring devices (which measure sound levels only) are installed on the first floor, lower ground floor, and rear patio.
Cleaning/Towels/Linen: Fluffy towels and quality linens are included. Cleaning is provided at changeover only.
Please feel free to get in touch with any questions or book directly through this website.
Please Note: The outdoor heated swimming pool is available from 1st May to the end of September, and heating is included in the rental price. Pool heating in April or October can be arranged for an additional fee. Please inquire for details.

About the host

Why they chose this property
Location, location, location! When looking to purchase the property we found nothing quite as well situated--it has fabulous rural views yet is still accessible to all modern comforts and is less than 2 miles from the beach, supermarkets, and the railway station. In one direction you can easily walk to the local pub and shop, and in the other there is absolutely nothing but beautiful views of fields, mountains, and the sea. The Colwyn Bay / Llandudno / Conwy area offers a vast array of activities that cater for all tastes and ages. It is also very accessible by car or train, making it an ideal holiday or short break destination.
The previous owners, who built the property in the mid-1990s, had established a highly successful holiday letting activity and before we purchased the house, we too stayed there as guests. We can therefore genuinely say that we liked it so much, we bought it ourselves!
What makes this property unique
The views from all rooms in the property are quite simply outstanding, with the elevated setting providing panoramic uninterrupted countryside and distant sea views. The location is perfect for relaxation, being at the end of a private road--the only noise you might hear is the gentle sound of sheep bleating in the fields at the end of the garden, or the distant sound of sea lions at feeding time in the Welsh Mountain Zoo half a mile away . In the evening you can enjoy incredible sunsets, watching the sun go down over the sea while sitting on the terrace or huge balcony, with views of Puffin Island and Anglesey in the distance, as well as the Great Orme and Little Orme. In Summer you can relax by the heated swimming pool.
The house is large, with plenty of room to let guests have their own space or for them all to congregate together. The dining room allows up to 12 people to eat together while enjoying glorious countryside views.
