About this property

Hen House is a really special place to stay, a charming garden cottage at the heart of Brook Farm. It’s a refurbishment of part of the old stables and granary and a perfect spot to relax and get away from it all!

Hen House is surrounded by a beautiful, picturesque garden and woodland. It sleeps two guests and is a wonderfully romantic retreat – warm, welcoming and magical, with everything you need for a relaxing break. And it has its own gorgeous little cinema, exclusively for Hen House guests.

Hen House has a spacious open plan layout, all on one level.

Layout

Kitchen and dining area: Fully equipped kitchen (with dishwasher, fridge freezer and electric cooker), farmhouse dining table.

Living area: Comfy sofa, armchair, throws, Smart TV and DVD player

Bedroom: King-sized bed, exposed beam ceiling

Bathroom / dressing room: Bath (with shower), WC, wardrobe.

Cinema room: In studio above Hen House - comfy sofas, streaming services / DVDs (your own cinema for your entire stay!)

There’s central heating and we also provide linen and towels. A washing machine and tumble dryer are available in the Store Room next to Hen House.

Hen House also has a lovely, enclosed private garden, with magical countryside views. It has a barbecue, outdoor tables / chairs and log-burner, perfect when it drops cold later in the evenings.

Parking is about 45 metres (along a gravel path) from the cottage.

Beyond that, it’s surrounded by nine acres of beautiful gardens, meadow and woodland. Find a lovely spot to sit and watch the sun set, listen to the birds, have a drink…or just be……

Our accommodation has won Best Self Catering accommodation at the 2018 Visit Worcestershire Awards and been a finalist at the 2019 UK Staycation Awards.

Idyllic retreat

Lovely, relaxing break for us. The property was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and quirky. The cinema room was rare treat! The private garden space was gorgeous and perfectly secure for our dog. The large, extensive gardens provided good, long walks with fabulous views. Thank you Stephen and Steven, we would love to stay again for a bit longer next time.

Short break at Hen House

We stayed at the Hen House it was immaculate with a beautiful enclosed garden which was perfect for our dog Barney. The hosts Stephen & Steven were lovely very friendly and provided everything you could need but left us to enjoy our stay.

We’re Stephen and Steven. We live at Brook Farm, Tenbury Wells with our labrador.
Brook Farm is located on the Worcestershire / Shropshire border, in one of the most beautiful parts of the country.

We're surrounded by lovely gardens, woodland, meadow, a brook, space to grow fruit and vegetables and our gorgeous, award-winning, self-catering cottages.

Hen House is a really special place to stay. Our aim is to provide our guests with:

* A relaxing spot to unwind and enjoy tranquil, unspoilt Worcestershire countryside
* Advice and information on places to see / visit
* Help if it’s needed - otherwise, we leave guests to it.

We both love food (nearby Ludlow is known for its restaurants, markets and food festivals), cinema and walking with our dog.

We grow lots of fruit at Brook Farm - so expect a bottle of apple juice made with our own apples and a jar of delicious homemade jam as a welcome!

Hen House is situated in a quiet rural location, on the edge of Brook Farm, and surrounded by nine acres of gardens, meadow and woodland. It's the perfect spot to relax and get away from it all - or explore some of the prettiest towns and countryside in England.

We’re in Berrington, a hamlet just a couple of miles from the riverside town of Tenbury Wells and a ‘stone’s throw’ from historic Ludlow, with its famous restaurants, markets and festivals. There's so much to do and explore.

Hen House has an open plan layout – oozing charm and character – with a lovely enclosed garden for dining or sitting in the sun.

Linen and towels are also provided. Well-behaved dogs are most welcome (at no additional charge).

What makes this property unique

A truly unique feature (new in 2021) is a cinema, exclusively for Hen House guests. It's gorgeous - and like having your own cinema for the evening.

Our nearby towns are really beautiful. Ludlow has fantastic markets and exceptional places to eat - try a cicchetti bar, French bistro or simply tuck in to a delicious Ludlow sausage sandwich! Combine a visit with one of its world-famous food or medieval festivals.

Our local town, Tenbury Wells is known as the “town in the orchard”, an ideal point for picking up the local cider route (or sampling a few of the local brews). Tenbury also has a lovely selection of independent shops and a striking art-deco theatre / cinema, The Regal.

There are spectacular gardens in the area - Berrington Hall, Brockhampton Estate and the walled garden at Croft Castle near Leominster. Also, beautiful Stockton Bury. Or follow the Black & White Villages Trail, through some of England's prettiest villages.

We really welcome doggie guests - and there's no extra charge.

There are many walks from the door – and we're just a short drive from the Long Mynd and Church Stretton, the first town in the Midlands to be awarded ‘Walkers are Welcome’ status.
