We 'ran away' for Christmas and spent 4 lovely days at Kerseyclough Bridge Cottage.
We 'ran away' for Christmas and spent 4 lovely days at Kerseyclough Bridge Cottage. There was a lovely tree in the sitting room and the log burner kept that room toasty warm. Indeed the whole house was comfortably warm all the time we were there. The cottage was spotlessly clean and has a small but very well equipped kitchen. I have stayed in many supposedly self catering properties where you couldn't do much more than heat up a pizza, but we could have cooked Christmas dinner here without any difficulty. There is a lovely shower room downstairs and a bathroom upstairs. It's true that the water pressure isn't great but we all had perfectly adequate showers downstairs every day and there was always lots of very hot water. The beds were comfortable and the nights totally quiet, although sadly, while we were there, not blessed with wonderful clear skies. We took all the food that we would need with us as we knew that, over Christmas, there would not be anywhere near by where we could shop; there was little in the way of 'local amenities' but you wouldn't choose to stay here if you want bright lights and shopping opportunities. For a peaceful break, with lots of good walking almost on the doorstep, in lovely scenery, Kerseyclough Bridge Cottage is perfect, even when the weather is dreich.
