Spacious, Comfortable Townhouse. Full Of Books and Artworks with Stunning Views
*New property on HomeAway. We have had several years experience in hosting guests at Morrab Terrace.*
Morrab Terrace is a beautiful regency house and family home. Set in a quiet, central part of Penzance, it has great sea views over Morrab Sub Tropical Gardens to Mounts Bay. It would suit a large family or extended family and friends. The kitchen is always warm and welcoming, being well equipped with a gas Aga, a good selection of pans, oven dishes etc., ideal for home cooking and baking. Using the Aga is straight forward and basic operating instructions will be provided as will an Aga cookbook.
All parts of the house are accessible to guests apart from one locked room containing some of our personal effects and some cupboards and storage spaces. Morrab Terrace provides a beautiful and peaceful space. The house is full of books, novels, art books, natural history books, cookbooks, books of poetry, philosophy, local history and maps and guides to the local area.
There is a piano in a reasonable state of tune and a good classical guitar to be used with respect and enjoyment. To the rear of the house is a south facing garden and patio with granite seating, ideal for sitting out in the sun or for al fresco eating.
The first floor single bedroom has access to a small balcony overlooking the garden. The second floor sitting room is spacious and has comfortable seats and sofa, a screen and dvd player, but no tv connection, there is also a good stereo system with cd player and external line in, to connect your phone or iPad to listen to your own music. Best of all is the amazing view over Morrab Gardens and the sea beyond. Binoculars are provided, and you can watch the ferry from the Isles Of Scilly approach Penzance at 7.30 each evening in addition to fishing boats in the bay and huge cargo vessels far out on the horizon.
To the rear of the house is a car parking space, suitable for a medium sized car.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE There is ample storage space for all your belongings. Morrab Terrace also contains many personal items and we ask you to treat them and the house with care and respect.
The house is centrally heated in addition to the warmth from the Aga. There is a clothes drying rack and washing machine in the utility room.
The second bathroom on the ground floor has a shower cubicle, sink and toilet. Incoming calls only can be received on the telephone.
The kitchen will contain basics, like olive oil, vinegar, salt, pepper etc and staples such as rice, pulses, sultanas, spices etc., to be used and replenished during your stay.
There is space for one medium sized car to park to the rear of the house. Access is a little tight, but perfectly adequate, allowing even a medium sized transit van to get here.

Wonderful house in the centre of Penzance. Loads of space for our group of 6 adults. We especially loved the cosy kitchen and the large sitting room on the 2nd floor with views out across Morrab gardens to the sea. Full of interesting books - we wish we had been able to spend longer in the house , relaxing and reading , but we were out everyday exploring the beautiful coastline and hidden coves nearby.

Why they chose this property
This property has a sense of peace and space allowing people to relax away from their normal lives. It is in a no through traffic area and is exceptionally quiet apart from the wood pigeons in the park and the sea gulls on the roof opposite.
Guests have often commented they would like a further week to spend simply working their way through the various genres of books in every part of the house. The house also has a nice selection of paintings and objects to enjoy.
