About this property

Le Mont Ventoux, house with pool on working vineyard in Drome Provençale

Domaine l'Ancienne École is a vineyard set on the plateau above the village of Vinsobres amongst its vines and neighbouring lavender fields.

Le Mont Ventoux is our recently refurbished semi-detached house at the southern end of the main building with 2 double bedrooms, a large family bathroom, a ground floor WC, spacious kitchen/dining area, living room with wood burning stove and a shaded terrace.

Domaine l'Ancienne École has a beautiful 14m x 5m infinity pool with wonderful views over the vines and the Mont Ventoux, shared between our 3 rentals.

Belle location

Nous avons passé 2 semaines de vacances en août 2021 dans cette location. Extérieur magnifique, super piscine, logement très grand et confortable. Bémol sur la précision de l’annonce : il était impossible de comprendre que la location était à ce point éloignée du village et il n’était pas précisé qu’il y avait des horaires pour la piscine. Un point négatif : nous avons parfois eu l’impression de déranger (peut être pas l’endroit idéal pour les familles avec jeunes enfants qui se sentiront « de trop »). A part ça, c’était très bien. séjour de charme au milieu des vignes

Très beau cadre, au milieu du domaine viticole de l'Ancienne Ecole. Endroit très calme avec comme seul musique le chant des grillons et des criquets. La vue de la piscine est magnifique sur les vignes et les champs de lavande avec en toile de fond le Géant de Provence. Le logement est confortable, spacieux et fonctionnel. Une belle découverte!

Fantastisch verblijf!!

In 1 woord geweldig! Super mooi, comfortabel huis, van alle gemakken voorzien. Schitterend uitzicht op de mont Ventoux. Als je van ruimte, mooie omgeving en rust houdt, is dit de locatie. De gastvrouw en heer waren erg vriendelijk en doen er alles aan om het de gasten naar de zin te maken, maar laten de gasten ook met rust. De foto’s en omschrijving kloppen exact met de werkelijkheid. Al met al een superleuk gehad!

Tout le charme et la tranquillité de la Provence se retrouvent dans le domaine l'Ancienne Ecole de Mr et Mme Thorburn. Maison bien équipée et joliment décorée. Superbe piscine au milieu des vignes avec vue sur le Ventoux. Accueil parfait avec une dégustation des excellents vins des propriétaires. Détente et calme assurés. Service parfait ! Magnifiques villages et randonnées à proximité et passage obligatoire par Nyons pour ses marchés et ses produits locaux. On y reviendra...

Gite de très grande qualité situé au milieu des vignes. Respecte parfaitement la description indiquée sur le site internet. Très bon accueil et propriétaires attentionnés. Piscine à débordement très agréable, à partager avec les 2 autres gites. Les points négatifs mais sans grande importance : Pas d'ombre sur la terrasse du gite. Mais heureusement, il y a une table de pique nique située tout près et à l'ombre. Le WiFi est quasiment inutilisable --> idéal pour se déconnecter !!!!! Je recommande vivement !!!!!

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with this forgotten corner of Provence one Sunday in September 1997 when the local cycle race forced onto a detour through the vineyards. Some years later when we decided to leave the City of London behind we were drawn back to this beautiful area. We purchased the old farm buildings and surrounding land and vines in 2006 and created the Domaine in 2007. We now both work full time on the land and in the winery.
