The Mount, 2 ensuite double rooms by The Royal William Yard

New build constructed in 2019. The 2-bed annex is on the ground floor with its own private entrance. There are two large bedrooms both en-suite. one has a 5 ft double bed and the other has two 3 ft single beds. There is a small separate kitchenette within the hallway. The kitchenette (not a kitchen) includes microwave, larda fridge, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, soup maker, omelette maker, china, cutlery, utensils and a sink. There is underfloor heating with settings in every room. There is also an air exchange system for fresh clean air entering the rooms at the same temperature of the old air that leaves through a different vent. The digs are accessed up a private drive with electric gates with private parking at no extra charge. The Mount is a one minute stroll to the very popular Royal William Yard with restaurants, bars and a small ferry to The Barbican. There is also a walk-on ferry (a two minute stroll) which goes across the River Tamar to Cornwall with lovely walks and Cornish villages and pubs.

We had a wonderful stay at The Mount. We arrived late after a long drive down from Scotland but Joanna was there to greet us and was a very friendly, welcoming host. We were made to feel right at home straight away. The property and location was perfect for us as a family of 3, with secure parking and easy access to Royal William yard. We look forward to visiting again.

Best stay in Plymouth, great value for money.

A lovely, cosy accomadition with everything there, Great hosts on hand if required and set in outstanding grounds a real idlic location to stay. Minutes from Royal William yard with great transport links of boats, buses and taxis is available. Would highly recommend to all that visit Plymouth and definitely will be staying again.

Plymouth get away

Great hosts, perfect location for us. We chose The Mount as we wanted to be close to Millbay and the Hoe for the sailing and also near to restaurants for eating out, we didn't intend doing our own cooking, so the kitchenette was fine for us. With Royal William Yard on the doorstep there is no shortage of places to eat, the added bonus is that Cornwall is only a few minutes boat trip away too. We had a great stay, thank you.

We were wowed by this property from the moment we jumped out of the car and trod the path to the door. This was better than any 5* hotel we've stayed in and the host was just wonderful. We were in a full five minutes before deciding we would like to return to the same accommodation before very long.

Beautiful apartment in a great location

Really easy to book through the app. Great communication with the owner Joanna from the beginning. Arrived slightly later than planned but the lovely Joanna said it was no problem. On arrival the Joanna showed us around her own beautiful house even challenging my son to a game of ping-pong or foos ball which unfortunately he was too shy to accept. We was told about all the nearest restaurants and places to see and things to do. We got into the apartment and was very happy to see the pictures didn't lie. It was a beautiful clean apartment and the location was amazing. My only regret was that I didn't bring my paddle board. I'm already talking to my girlfriends about a long weekend there soon. We was asked if we would like to stay another night but unfortunately we had other plans. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Joanna and her lovely apartment.

Outstanding, amazing accommodation and hosts

Well what can we say??!! After seeing the photos on Vrbo and then actually seeing the House and our ‘digs’ for ourselves our expectations were well exceeded, well beyond what we could of hoped for. Clean, tidy, modern, so relaxing. Our hosts Joanna and Andrew went over and above to look after us and make sure we were happy with everything. They were so trustworthy and their generosity knows no bounds. Joanna also took the time on the phone to answer any questions and was on hand for any issues and advice on what to do and where to visits prior to our arrival. Upon finally meeting Joanna it was like meeting an old friend again, so welcoming, friendly and lovely. We will definitely be returning to stop here at this little gem of a find. Two minute walk to the Royal William yard and then half hourly ferry’s across to Cornwall, and the Barbican. I am returning home three stone heavier after all the fab food and amazing cocktails we have devoured!! Joanna, we will see you again soon 🥰

Really tidy and clean accomodation. Beds were nice and comfy with lovely walk in showers. Very modern, fresh feel throughout. Joanna was a brilliant host and her communication before and during our stay was excellent! What a lovely place to stay, perfectly located to be able to explore Devil's Point and Royal William Yard. The property was clean, tidy and had everything you needed. We also got to meet the hosts who were lovely and let us use their paddleboards

Joanna was incredibly helpful before and throughout our stay, suggesting places to visit and how best to get there. Absolutely Perfect

We was very impressed with our stay, the property was perfect for us as a family of 4. Lovely spacious bedrooms with very comfy beds& 2 bathrooms. The place was spotless & had everything we needed. Very peaceful with parking& the host was very helpful. kids loved the table tennis. Location was amazing with private access to the royal William yard. Stunning rocky beach a few minutes walk away. We will definitely recommend to others & be back again one day

A very pleasant day

The accommodation was absolutely lovely, but, it is very small, absolutely great as a base for visiting local area. There are two spacious bedrooms and a table with two dining chairs big enough to accommodate two people and a very small sofa. The only thing we missed was a separate room where we could sit down together. But, the accommodation was exactly as it was described. I would highly recommend this venue and the host. .

My husband and I have been hosts to actors visiting Plymouth for some 20 years when we lived in our Georgian house. We know only too well that you want a clean, warm, pleasant place to stay which is private and quiet. We are here to help if you need us - but we are also aware that you are on your holiday and we do not encroach on your space.
In 2019 we built 'The Mount' which is where we now live having sold our old house. The two-bed accommodation being offered to you is on the ground-floor of the new house and completely separate.
My career has been as a teacher of children with aspects of dyslexia. I ran my own business having created a reading resource for children that is based on playing card games and having fun and yet it is a professional reading scheme
My husband is a keen golfer so if you would like any information on the several courses around here he will be able to help.

Why they chose this property

This is an opportunity to stay in a new-build property with clean and fresh bedrooms.

The amazing air exchange system gives clean fresh air 24/7. I have been astonished at its efficiency - no stale air, all fresh with the same temp air coming in as going out - but fresh - it is wonderful.

The underfloor heating system works throughout the property - meaning warm tiles and walking around barefooted is a real pleasure.

As for the location and area in general it really is wonderful. We moved to this area 25 yrs ago and realised how much it had to offer - so much so that we sold the house and built the new house in the grounds.

Apart from being right by the sea and the Royal William Yard we are a short drive from masses of beautiful beaches in Devon and Cornwall. Dartmoor is only a twenty min drive away. But in addition we are in a city postcode, meaning access to everything Plymouth has to offer being a 20min walk, a direct bus twice an hour or a foot ferry twice an hour.

It is an astonishing area offering so much.

What makes this property unique

The Mount is right outside the historic Grade 1 listed naval victualling yard - Royal William Yard now with all its bars restaurants, winebars and open air entertainment during the summer. There are monthly farmers market, open air concerts and plays, jazz and folk music at weekends. There is also water sports in the form of SUPs (Stand Up Paddle boarding. The RWY Ferry goes half hourly to the Barbican.

The Barbican has the aquarium, Mayflower Steps, Plymouth Gin Distillery, restaurants, bars and several interesting shops - art and antiques included. There is a foot ferry to two villages, Cawsand and Kingsand, with beaches and pubs across the River Tamar in Cornwall. These villages can also be reached via a small passenger ferry a couple of hundred metres from the property and then a very pleasant walk of approximately 90 minutes. Alternatively you can take a bus which meets the ferry hourly at Cremyll.
