The staircase leading down to the apartment takes you through the olive grove. The Olive Grove Apartment in "La Bastide Saint Christophe" is south and west facing with lovely views over the surrounding area.
The apartment has its own private garden with charcoal and gas barbeques. Parking is in a private lay-by situated one level above the garden.

The Olive Grove Apartment has a triple and a double bedroom with king size beds.
The apartment is 100m2 in size and accommodates up to five people.

Located 10 minutes walk from the centre of the medieval village of Le Bar sur Loup, "La Bastide Saint Christophe" is set in a centuries old olive grove of 3000m2 with uninterrupted panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

We offer 5 very spacious and high quality gîte apartments, furnished with care in a comfortable Provençale style.

The fabulous 12 metre long and 5 metre wide swimming pool is surrounded by wrought iron fencing and is heated from 1 May to mid October.
A wonderful place to relax and enjoy the view !

Fantastic place, great hosts

We spent ten great days here. The Bastide has a wonderful location in a small medieval village that is centrally located for exploring the whole region. Our apartment was spacious, immaculate, well furnished, and offered an amazing view. Our hosts, who live on the property, were terrific and responsive; they even arranged for restaurant reservations when we arrived. Note: Pay attention to the hosts' directions for driving to the Bastide, as Google Maps takes you on a terrible route.

Fabulous stay

A delightful place to stay. The accommodation was perfect for our needs. Two lovely sized bedrooms. Our teenager particularly enjoyed having his own on-suite! The kitchen was much larger than it appeared in the photograph. Most of our time at the property was spent sitting outside in the beautiful garden, which was really relaxing, especially after very hot days exploring numerous hilltop villages. We also enjoyed cooling off in the gorgeous pool. Thank you Milly for being such a welcoming host.

A home away from home

We just spent 5 weeks in Le Bar, and we lived in two different apartments. We had our little baby with us and all we needed for her was provided for on arrival, which made us feel very welcome. The rooms are homely decorated with a tough of provence and in good taste, with the possibility to enjoy a dvd, a book or the nice view of the valley/village. We even used the beautiful pool, in january, but I would recommend a warmer month! We visited the local marked in Pre du Lac every monday, to buy olives, cheese and vegetable, and would recommend a visit. The landscape surrounding Le Bar provides a vide range of beautiful walking tracks, up to Gordon or trough small tunnels. We warmly recommend the hospitable friendly hosts and there comfortable home.

Bastide St Christophe - Olive Grove apartment

My wife, 2 grown children and I spent a week mid-July in the Olive Grove apartment at Bastide St Christophe. The apartment is very spacious with 2 good sized bedrooms, large living room, bathroom and kitchen. It really feels more like a small house since you have a garden with bbq and outdoor seating. The house is terraced into the mountain and the apartments have views across the moutnains. There is a provate terrace for the Olive Grove apartment that runs along the living room and bedroom with beautiful views to the mountains. It catches the sun from early afternoon through to sunset - around 8pm in the summer. There is a table and chairs on this terrace so you can eat there as well, though we tended to have dinner in the garden. The property has been cleverely sub-divided so you are not overlooked and feel private even though others are also renting in the same large building. The pool is excellent and a good size for swimming, also the pool area is well equipped - nice sun loungers, umbrellas. The property is very well equipped - the kitchen has everything you could need including coffee maker, wine cooler etc.We liked the fact that its less than 10 minute walk into the centre of the village so its possible to buy groceries and go to 3-4 restaurants without driving anywhere. Milly is extremely helpful and the property is professionally run..no hidden charges or extras. This area is also really nice - mountains, small villages, great views. easy access to Vance, Grasse, Valbonne etc and a 40 minute drive to good beaches at Theoule sur mer. Overall an excellent week and we were very happy with the choice of Bastide St Christophe - would recommend it without hesitiation.

Stop! This should be you're choice.

We loved our stay here. We chose the Garden Apartment, which was actually a two bedroom house with it's own driveway for parking. There were four of us with plenty of room to move about. The kitchen was large with all the necessities to making a great meal if you so choose. The local village is close-by for supplies, food, and bakery. What I enjoyed most was the local scenery. You are in the lower alps, close to a number of medieval towns, and lots of lush greenery everywhere. Milly is a wonderful host and will make sure your stay is a memorable one. Enjoy.

Great Holiday !

Hello, We spent 1 week in the Upper Garden Apartment. After a warm welcome (in Dutch!) we enjoyed the apartment which feels more like a house indeed with the garden and a place to park the car. Nicely decorated apartment with a very nice view from the living room - balcony. The lovely pool - we were mostly alone - has the same great view. WIFI en TV works fine. Many different things to explore: - hiking (route des Claps) - cycling (road to Gréolières les Neiges is breathtaking - 5-6%) - swimming (pool + diving in the river Loup) - lovely towns & markets (Gourdon, Tourettes sur Loup,...) - Côte d'Azur (30' drive, Juan Les Pins) - Art (Picasso museum Antibes, Saint-Paul-de Vence) Strongly recommended! regards, Peter, Sandra, Jeroen & Ben (Edegem, Belgium)

The place is really nice, perfectly clean, and Milly is so kind that you feel like a friend here, not a client. Lovely garden and pool. This place is a perfect spot to start exploring Provence and Cote d'Azur. Very close to La bastide we visited Tourrette Sur Lup (so nice!), Saint Paul de Vence (so artistic!), then Cagnes sur Mer, Grasse, Saint Tropez, the wonderful coast of Esterelle, Cannes, Antibes, Eze etc etc... Our Honeymoon at "La Bastide Saint Christophe"

First we want to thank Milly and Art for the wonderful time at their outstanding appartment "Olive Grove". From the first moment on we felt very welcomed due to the friendly and warm atmosphere. Our daughter at the age of two had a brilliant time in here own garden ;o). As you can imagine the apartment was furnished lovely and with a beautiful view from our balcony. Le Bar Surloup is a lovely, little town and Cannes, Nice, Grasse are reachable with bus or car - even if you have child. Resuming we had a wondeful time and we can absolutely recommend this wonderful housing with no doubt to everyone.

Home from Home at the Olive Grove

Can't recommend this apartment enough. Clean comfort able with every facilty provided, dishwasher washing machine, etc. Lovely view from bedroom and lounge.The very friendly and helpful owners on site for advice should you need it. Booked the local restaurant for us. We managed to use the lovely pool a few times before it became very stormy and rainy, but we relaxed watching DVD's borrowed from the owners and read from the array of books provided. We will visit again

I moved with my husband Art to the south of France with the idea of staying for a couple of years but we fell in love with the area and its amazing climate.
We were lucky enough to find "La Bastide Saint Christophe" and to make it our home.
I hope to offer our guests a sense of the beauty and tranquility that enchanted us when we moved here more than 20 years ago!

Why they chose this property

We were actually looking for what seemed like the impossible property! A characterful house big enough for us to live in and rent out holiday apartments somewhere in the Grasse area or a village nearby. To top it all it had to be south facing, not on a main road, and walking distance to the local boulangerie.

What makes this property unique

Gorgeous authentic village, lovely views, beautiful old olive grove, characterful architecture, sunny pool and walking distance not only to the boulangerie but to excellent restaurants as well!
