The Lower Garden Apartment in "La Bastide Saint Christophe"  is 100m2 in size and offers wonderful views over the olive grove with wooded mountains as backdrop.

Other than for families, the layout is also perfect for 2 couples with the bedrooms being located at either end of the apartment thus ensuring privacy and personal space for everyone.  The spacious bedrooms have king size beds and each have their own bathrooms.
The apartment is south and east facing with its own driveway, private garden, 3 large terraces and is equipped with a charcoal barbecue.

Located 10 minutes walk from the centre of the medieval village of Le Bar sur Loup, "La Bastide Saint Christophe" is set in a centuries old olive grove of 3000m2 with uninterrupted panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

We offer 5 very spacious and high quality gîte apartments, furnished with care in a comfortable Provençale style.

The fabulous 12 metre long and 5 metre wide swimming pool is surrounded by wrought iron fencing and is heated from 1 May to mid October.
A wonderful place to relax and enjoy the view !

Great place to stay

The Lower Garden apartment was great in terms of comfort. Great view from the two balconies. The only downside is the steep driveway, which I was afraid to take the car down or up, so we walked up and down, and it was strenuous for two seniors. We needed to use walking sticks.

Fabulous home away from home. All you need is in the appt, the hosts were welcoming, friendly and easily contactable. There’s a great deal of outdoor activities to do in and around Bar-sur-Loup - hiking, karting, canyoning and more. Food options within 30 min drive are excellent and cooking for ourselves was easy too as the appt was fully stocked with crockery, cutlery and utensils. Multiple decks to catch the sun were a bonus with a glass of wine and nibbles. Would love to come back and stay longer!

We loved this property! It was the perfect resting place after spending several days in Keysersberg and yet a fabulous launching place for day trips to Nice and Gourdon. Milly and Art were the perfect hosts. Our accommodations were comfortable and super clean. Sitting by the pool on a spring day was relaxing. We had received several restaurant suggestions from them and they were delicious. We are thankful they shared their lovely home with us.

Peaceful, central location, perfect for exploring the region

We rented the lower garden apartment during the 1st week of September. It's a perfect base for a week exploring. We went to Nice, Cannes, Antibes, Theoule-sur-mer, and Gourdon. The last 3 being our favourites. The town of Le Bar-sur-loup is just a perfect sleepy French village with loads of fab Restaurants. Really Hilly and you feel like you've earned your puddings! The apartment itself was everything it needed to be. Clean and very well appointed. Lovely pool, boules pitch, for those rare spare moments. Millie, the host was very accommodating and welcoming. Lovely vacation home with everything you could need for a great stay in the South of France!

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at this beautiful and peaceful vacation home in the South of France! The owners, Milly and Art, are gracious hosts and provided us so many tips about places to visit, restaurants to eat at, and things to do for our family in the area. They were so helpful and great communicators and truly made our stay incredible. The lower garden apartment is absolutely wonderful! It's huge, comfortable, has a great balcony with an amazing view, and is very well appointed! The beds were quite comfortable, the kitchen had everything you could need, and there were many helpful "extras" like beach mats and umbrella and shopping bags that were appreciated! We were surrounded by olive and fruit trees, and the awesome pool was a minute or two walk from the apartment. We loved the sweet hillside town of Le Bar-Sur-Loup, we could easily walk to get bread in the morning and to a couple of lovely restaurants. It felt like you were "living" in France as there were few tourists. It was well located for exploring amazing nearby ancient towns (Gourdon, Tourettes Sur Loup), larger Grasse, and the beach wasn't too far for a day trip. Our only regret was not staying longer, we're ready to return for at least a week! Thank you for an excellent stay in the Souh of France, Art and Milly, it was unforgettable!

Highly recommended

We stayed in the lower garden apartment for 6 weeks and would highly recommend it. Finding the apartment was really simple. It’s on a quiet lane, but only a few hundred meters from the shops and the village of Le Bar Sur Loup. There’s a separate drive to this apartment with generous parking (I always worry about where I going to leave my car). It actually feels more like you’re staying in a separate house than an apartment. I can’t fault the description of the apartment and it was spotlessly clean. The apartment is well equipped with good quality fittings and furniture and clearly well maintained - I don’t think I lacked anything whilst I was there. It’s also very comfortable with a real homely (but French) feel. I’ve rented a few places before where everything is cheap and falls apart when you touch it or so expensive looking you don’t dare to touch anything – this isn’t the case here. You can make yourself at home and enjoy your holiday. There are nice views from the balcony across the valley and into the Gorges de Loup (which is breath taking) and overlooking the garden and the pool. It was too cold for me to swim in March when we arrived, but that didn’t put my two sons off! The apartment is close to the village of Le Bar Sur Loup which is a really pretty hill top village with a variety of restaurants and smaller shops. Supermarkets are a few minutes drive away and it’s close to interesting towns like Grasse, Cannes, Antibes, Valbonne, Biot and of the city if Nice. I personally like the countryside and mountains which are right on the doorstep. The whole area is teaming with things to do for any age from sightseeing and beaches to rafting and skiing. There are regular buses that look like they provide a good service, but I think to enjoy the whole area you need to bring your car or hire one. The owners were very friendly (although not invasive) and truly were multilingual. Overall a great stay, in a great apartment, in a great location and I am going to book to come back.

Es Lebe "La Bastide Saint Christophe"

Mein Mann und ich besuchen Europa sei über zehn Jahren. Dieser Urlaub war einer der besten. La Bastide Saint Christophe, die in Bar sur Loup, einem kleinen, malerischen und sehr romantischen Ort gelegen ist, ist die ideale Unterkunft wenn man die Cote d’Azur genießen will aber nicht direkt im Trubel stecken möchte. Die Apartments in La Bastide gönnen einem genau die Ruhe, die man sich im Urlaub wünscht, dennoch kann man innerhalb von 30-45 Minuten an die Küste fahren um das ‚High Life’ und den Trubel zu erleben. La Bastide mit 5 Apartments, befinden sich in einem sehr hübschen mit Orangen- und Olivenbaum bestandenen, angelegten Terrassen Garten mit dazu gehörendem gepflegtem Pool. Der Ausblick richtet sich auf die lieblichen Hügel, die sich hinter der Küste von Cannes erstrecken. Die Ausstattung in unserem Apartment, die Küche, das Wohn-Esszimmer, die zwei Schlafzimmer und zwei Bäder waren mit viel Liebe und Aufmerksamkeit fürs Detail eingerichtet, so dass man sich wie zu Hause fühlen konnte und dennoch im Urlaub befand. Unsere reizenden Gastgeber Art, Milly, die zwei Töchter und Flash (das Kaninchen) waren dafür verantwortlich, dass der Urlaub so gelungen war. Sie gaben uns großartige Typs wo zu Essen, wo Einzukaufen, sodass man ohne jegliche Mühe den Urlaub echt genießen konnte. Und sich wie ein Einheimischer fühlte. La Bastide bietet jedem Urlauber was er gern möchte. Dem, der Ruhe sucht, Ruhe, dem, der Unterhaltung sucht, Unterhaltung. Man kann wirklich sagen: La Bastide und ihre Besitzer sind es wert diesen Teil Europas zu besuchen und total zu genießen. Wir empfehlen wenn das Reiseziel die Cote D’Azur ist, wählt La Bastide Saint Christophe als Ferienwohnsitz!!

We have just returned from our holiday. We stayed in the Lower Garden Apartment, it was fantastic - clean, spacious and the views were breath taking! Milly, Art, Sophia and Lucy are the owners and we felt we had known them forever (not just 2wks), they could not do enough for you. If you are thinking of visiting the South of France please stay here you will be really impressed and the accessiblity to the surrounding tourist spots is ideal place to be based. Cannes, the perfumeries in Grasse, to name only two are beautiful places to visit. At the end of the day sit on the balcony drinking your wine watching the sunset. We intend to visit again. Vive La Bastide Saint Christophe

My wife and I have been coming to Europe every summer for the last ten plus years and this was one of our best experiences. The location was excellent up in the hills in Bar sur Loup off the coast where it was peaceful, friendly, quaint, clean, nice restaurants within walking distance. Just a charming little town, with easy access to all that the Cote d' Azur has to offer. But what made it special was our apartment and it's surrounding grounds. You may feel with having 5 rentals within the building that privacy may be questionable. Not the case! The way it is laid out, you hardly know others are there. And if you do bump into another of the guests its like looking into a mirror, they are just as relaxed and feeling as good as you. We had the Garden Apt. and I have to say it wasn't just good, it was great! Everything that you would need was provided, from a well equiped kitchen, two lovely bedrooms, (slepted like babies - good matresses and night air) with baths, your own private grill for cooking out, and not one but two private places to chose to eat outside. Did I mention the pool? It was basically two terraces down from the house, providing all the privacy you could ever desire. The setting was perfect, so much so that if it wern't for my wife getting water logged, she would have never come out of the water. Finally, Art, Milly, their two lovely daughters, and "Flash" (the rabitt) put the icing on the cake as to making you feel at home, giving you good suggestions on where to go, what to do. They really want you to enjoy yourselves. And we did, my only regret was that we only spent one week, two would be ideal! Bottom line: Does it sound like I would go there again? TRANQUIL RETREAT

We are looking forward to our third visit to the wonderful tranquil retreat of Bastide Saint Christophe . Whilst the Bastide is made up of several appartments you are only likely to see residents around the pool with it's amazing view- you almost feel that you are swimming along the hillside, which in a way you are! Several restaurants are a short walk away in the beautiful village that also has several shops including a boulangerie and there are also supermarkets a short drive away. Grasse, Valbonne, St Paul de Vence and the beautiful beaches of the Cote d'Azur are all close by. Art , Milly and their daughters are wonderful hosts who make one immediately feel at home . Our children insisted again that we return - their request is however that we can stay for the whole summer !! I wish we could - sadly a fortnight will have to suffice!

We were lucky enough to find "La Bastide Saint Christophe" and to make it our home.
I hope to offer our guests a sense of the beauty and tranquility that enchanted us when we moved here more than 20 years ago!

Why they chose this property

We were actually looking for what seemed like the impossible property! A characterful house big enough for us to live in and rent out holiday apartments somewhere in the Grasse area or a village nearby. To top it all it had to be south facing, not on a main road, and walking distance to the local boulangerie.
