Very comfortable house. The kitchen was very well stocked with things needed for cooking and plenty of paper goods. We enjoyed the front porch and back deck. Plenty of shade trees. Lots of deer in the mornings and evenings.
Picturesque setting and a great place to enjoy the river. close enough to all the fun but also get the feeling that you are out in the country. Love this place
We loved celebrating an 85th birthday with our entire family. This is a beautiful home in a very scenic area. The hosts have thought of everything to make our stay perfect! Our family’s ages ranged from 3 months to 85 years. Thank you a great time!
This VRBO was great. There are not many I would be a repeat visitor to just because there are so many options out there to try but I would definitely visit this one again! We went when it was cold and I would love to visit when we could float in the river! The location is beautiful, the house, all the beds and bathrooms in each room, the extra cabin, the parking situation.... it was nice to have so much space. We had 11 adults and it was perfect for us. Also, something that really stuck out to me, was all the extras they had. Paper plates, plastic silverware, toilet paper, paper towels, plastic cups, etc. We didn't cook any meals there so we didn't really bring much as far as groceries go (just drinks, snacks, and sandwich stuff) but there are always small things you need like those listed above and it was so great that they had them. I have never seen anyone do that before, it was really a nice touch. And the owners were nice too, very easy to communicate with. The location was close to everything we needed, we went to Gruene multiple times, and the wildlife nearby was so neat to see. I will add that the closets in the three main bedrooms have been made into little bed nooks with twin size beds in them. Perfect if you have a kid to put in there but could be awkward for adults. I could tell by looking at the photos but wanted to mention it for anyone that was unsure. Anyway, would absolutely visit this place again!
Extremely well stocked with everything you might need through out the entire property
The home and cabin were very clean, kitchen was extremely organized, well stocked, great instructions, easy to contact the host. Great location in a beautiful area.
This was our 2nd year to stay at this home. We love the location to the river and to all the fun things to do in the area. My favorite things about the GRUENE River house….They provide all your paper products. They are very responsive to our needs. The cabin is perfect for my husband and I when we need some quiet time. There are enough tubes and kayaks to have a great time on the river. There are plenty of deer to watch and other wildlife.
We were traveling togather for our annual family reunion. We wanted a place where we could all stay together and this place exceeded expectations. The steep driveway is a little bit of a rush, but perfectly navigatable. There were several tables to eat at or play games. We had some confusion about the refrigerator, but the hosts responded quickly and we realized what we were doing wrong, so the issue was resolved.
Our family enjoyed our stay and appreciated all the bedrooms and adjoining bathrooms! Plenty of beds for everyone. We were surprised at all the deer in the neighborhood. Great view of the river!
One of the best houses to stay in I've seen on the river in the Gruene area. So close to the towns while also beign right on the river for a dose of nature. Loved this place!
