Beautiful place to stay with a lovely walk to the woods that takes you through to the beach, nice clean place to stay with a beautiful secluded garden to sit out in, quiet and peaceful with lovely touches to the Shepherds hut, parking on drive outside friendly host
This is the second time we’ve stayed here. Great little bolt hole for visit to New Forest. Wonderful location, clean, warm, comfortable-great for a weekend get away
We really enjoyed our stay in the shepherds hut. Was very comfy and cosy even when the wind was blowing a gale.

We loved our stay in ‘The Coop’. Rachel and her partner were very helpful and responsive providing great local recommendations. The Shepherds Hut was clean, cosy, private and in an excellent location. A short 10 min walk to the main high street and beach. We’d recommend Rachel’s to anyone looking to explore the area and hope to be back soon. Rachel’s welcome pack was informative, instructions were clear and the gifts were very kind. We loved the extra touches that made it feel more homely. Lots of storage and very dog friendly with a secure space for our cocker spaniel Lily to roam free. Easy parking as well.
We absolutely loved our stay at this stylish shepherd's hut. The location was incredible—walkable distance to the beach and the charming village. We enjoyed long walks along the beautiful coastline and also ventured into the nearby New Forest, which was stunning. The hut itself was cozy, beautifully designed, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was the perfect mix of peace and adventure. We can’t wait to come back in the summer!
We had a very nice stay at the coop. It is very well equipped, clean and the welcome pack was very nice. A great location for lots of activities. Would definitely come back

Thanks for your review - your rating should be 5 stars for everything but think it might have got stuck on a four stars doing it in my phone too quickly!
The Coop was a lovely place to stay for a few days holiday offering everything needed for a relaxing time. Milford on Sea was within walking distance ( taking about 10 mins) providing a range of shops, restaurant and bars. Would highly recommend.
Really clean lovely stay if you want peace and quite, The wifi sontimes cut out but apart from that would recommend stay as very peaceful east commute with car to prime places
This hut is alongside a road which is noisy at times. It is not clear that it is on the hosts driveway.Internally, no cupboard space for groceries and no freezer compartment in the fridge. The microwave oven is placed too high for us to use safely. Location is as described and within walking distance of the village. The hut is immaculately clean and fresh.

So sorry to hear some of your comments. Yes the hut is on our property but in its own private secluded position surrounded by trees with its own courtyard and parking. Sorry to hear you found the road busy as most people find the location peaceful, maybe it was the lorries that were delivering to a property that is undergoing renovations down the road. As the property is a shepherd’s hut, there is limited cupboard space due to its size but extra storage can be found underneath the seats.

This is a beautiful space with everything you might need (other than a toaster!) The bed is very comfortable and the garden in front completely private with lovely comfortable garden chairs to enjoy the sunshine and a table for outdoor eating. Parking is right outside the gate to your little garden and the area is a delight to explore. You do hear the noise from the road at night because the bed is effectively against the hedge on the boundary but it's a village road not a main one. Would only be an issue if you're a very light sleeper.
The Coop is well fitted out with everything you need for a week away. Beware no TV. It’s in a great location within walking distance if Milford on Sea and the beach as well as a great location to visit other places too. The only minor downside is the hut is close to the road so we experienced some road noise in the morning but we got used to it.
The Coop is very clean, well equipped and everything is of high standard. It was perfect for a few quality days spent for just Grandma and Grandson. The only slight negative was the evenings offered no comfy lounge seat for me to sit while my grandson slept. I ended up bringing in an outside chair which had cushions, which worked fine.
Easy walk to the village and pond, and lovely walk to Hurst Castle and lighthouse, which is a must see. My seven year old grandson loved the whole experience. Highly recommend.
We stayed at the hut for four nights and found it beautifully designed, and to our surprise quite spacious compared to huts we've stayed in before. There is plenty of space for two people to sit around and relax and a very adequate kitchen (we only used the microwave, but there is a double hob and cooking utensils provided). The bed is 'cabin style' and very comfortable, with some storage space at one end which is quite convenient so your bits and bobs don't fill up the dining/kitchen area. The location is lovely, not in a busy area but with easy access by foot to the seafront and all the amenities in the village. Parking is right by the Coop front door so getting settled is very easy, and there was a thoughtful welcome hamper containing some local produce, as well as tea and coffee and milk being available on arrival. A very cozy place in a lovely area!
Sadly our trip was very short lived. We booked before we knew it was going to be a heatwave and was looking forward to 3 nights in Milford on sea. Unfortunately the weather crept up to 29c on the day we were due to arrive. We decided to head down and relax at the shepards hut with 2 fans in tow. Unfortunately we lasted 3hours :( the shepards hut is clean, well thought out with storage and areas to eat, sleep and have a shower. It is however in a sun trap which meant it was unbearably hot for us and our two dogs. Having unpacked and cooked our dinner, it was evident none of us were going to get any sleep as sweat was literally dripping down our face in the hut :( and the garden also was still very hot at 7pm. We decided to cut our loses, packed up the car and retreated home (back to Kent). The owners did offer to move our booking to another date in July however due to both our work commitments this wasnt feasible, so sadly was a very expensive 3 hour stay which was incredibly disappointing.

Sorry you were disappointed, it was exceptionally hot, one of the hottest days this year. The offer to rebook for an alternative date still stands. 👍😁
The property is as advertised. It is close to the beach and village. It is very well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our 17th wedding anniversary in a very intimate and memorable location.
Thank you.
Perfect base for exploring New Forest and South Coast within walking distance of a village with pubs, restaurants, and shops. The hut is lovely and the bed is very comfortable.
The property was just as described. The bed was so comfortable. And the village was so friendly and had everything we needed. Lovely walks we had a great time. First time away with our puppy and she loved the whole experience. Would definitely book again. Fish and chips from Mr Pinks amazing thanks for recommendation. Xx
We had a lovely stay at the coop. Very intimate, extremely comfortable and peaceful. Able to stroll to the town and to the beach for a nice walk and pub dinner.
I stayed with my young dog for three nights whilst visiting family in Milford. The Coop was perfect for me and the dog. The finish of the Coop is high spec, and Rachel as a host was superb. Quick responses to questions and a lovely welcome breakfast basket on arrival. If your looking for a base for the New Forest, and to explore the area, this Coop is ideal. Will definitely stay again. Thank you Rachel!
