Sitting just outside the village of Elkstone high above the Cotswolds, Oldbury Barn is a rural Cotswold stone barn conversion. Surrounded by countryside valley views with footpaths leading from the garden, this is an immersive Cotswold escape.
A large open plan living area with a high ceiling and exposed beams is the hub of this wonderful family home. Large windows and French doors let you expand this space into the garden. There is a well-equipped kitchen, a dining area and plenty of space to stretch out and relax in front of the woodburning stove. Two en-suite bedrooms on the ground floor make Oldbury Barn a fantastic choice for multi-generational holidays. The home is full of colour and character and you will feel at ease here, making it your own for a short while.
The garden is ideal for those staying with children. A lawned area has space to play and there is a swing/slide set so you don’t have to worry about keeping the youngsters entertained. Sit on the terrace soaking in the views and serve meals cooked on the BBQ to make the most of this amazing location. The gravelled parking area to the front of Oldbury Barn provides ample space for six cars.
Ground Floor
Entrance Hall/Cloakroom:
When you first step into Oldbury Barn you can take off your coats and shoes to be stored in the entrance hall. There is a handy cloakroom here as well with a WC and sink.
Kitchen/Dining/Living Room:
The centrepiece of this home is the stunning, open plan kitchen/dining/living area, which runs the full length of the barn. Fabulous exposed beams, an arched window with a seat and a woodburner make this the place you will spend most of your time.
The fully equipped kitchen features a large island with plenty of preparation space, a breakfast bar, fridge, freezer, Rangemaster oven and hob, dishwasher and plenty of crockery, utensils, glassware and bakeware for a fully self-catered stay. French doors lead directly from the kitchen to the patio making it super easy to carry food and drinks outside for al fresco entertaining.
Sitting at the centre of the open plan area is a contemporary oak table that expands to seat all guests. The table is positioned beside the superb central arched window, giving diners a great view out to the garden. On the other side of the dining table is a long sideboard with a Sonos speaker and lots of family games.
At the far end is space to relax and chill out on two three-seater sofas or an armchair perfectly positioned to enjoy the large woodburner in the inglenook fireplace or simply curl up with a good book.
Bedroom One:
This beautiful, spacious, apple-green en-suite bedroom is striking, yet cool and calming. Two large arched French windows overlook the front of the barn and the side garden. The bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed with bedside tables and reading lights, a dressing table with a mirror, an armchair, and a large corner wardrobe with hanging space and shelves.
En-suite:
The bright and light bathroom features a full-size bath, with central taps and hand-held shower, a sink and WC.
Bedroom Two:
The dark grey-blue walls of this en-suite bedroom add great drama to this inviting bedroom, with its arched French window opening out to the front of the barn. The bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed with bedside tables and reading lights, a chest of drawers with tri-mirror, a shoe rack, and hooks on the back of the door to hang clothes.
En-suite:
The ceiling of the en-suite sweeps to the full height of the barn making this a stunning shower room with a large walk-in shower, washbasin with vanity unit, mirror and shaver point, a WC, and a heated towel rail.
First Floor
Bedroom Three:
This family bedroom has two standard double beds. Each bed has a bedside table and lamp and the room has a small armchair and hooks for hanging clothes. The bright and inviting room has two floor-level windows and a Velux window.
Bedroom Four:
At the opposite end of the barn, this bedroom has a double bed and a single sofa bed. The room is furnished with children in mind, with a play mat, floor cushion, and toy storage box serving as a chest of drawers. However, adult guests will also enjoy this room and the great view from the double bed through the floor-level window out across the surrounding countryside. Hooks on the back of the door provide a hanging place for clothes. The two floor-level windows and Velux make this another sunny and bright bedroom.
Bathroom:
The spacious bathroom has a bath with a shower over, a washbasin with a hand-built vanity unit and mirror, with lots of storage space, and a WC.
Utility Room:
The barn has a handy utility room, with an washing machine and dryer, iron/ironing board with plenty of space to do the ironing, a fan and a clothes airer.
Outside
When the weather is fine, Oldbury Barn’s outdoor space really swings into its own. There is a long lawn to the side of the barn and a large lawn and terrace to the rear, directly outside the kitchen/dining area. The terrace is furnished with an outdoor sofa, parasol, and dining table and chairs for 10, plus a charcoal BBQ. Young children have a slide/swing set to enjoy. To the front of the barn is a large gravelled, circular drive with parking for at least six cars. The drive has a double gate that can be secured to ensure children are safe inside. Oldbury Barn is located on one of the highest points in the Cotswolds with far-reaching views across the surrounding countryside from every part of the garden.

Set behind private gates, this stunning, detached, 4-bedroom barn conversion in the rural hamlet of Elkstone, close to Cheltenham, is decorated and furnished to a very high standard with light and bright décor that enhances the beautiful period features to create a contemporary feel. Oldbury Barn is the perfect family residence, sleeping 8 (+3) guests across two en-suite double rooms downstairs, and two family rooms, sharing a family bathroom, upstairs. Outside there are stunning views across the countryside and a large garden and patio, including sofa, table and chairs, and a BBQ, a slide-swing set.
