Ballywilliam House property description
Built in 1816 Ballywilliam House is a majestic waterside Georgian sanctuary in a magnificent private setting on the elevated site on the banks of the river Bandon a five-minute drive from the picturesque town of Kinsale.
The property oozes history, its believed a house has existed on the land at Ballywilliam in some form since 1765, the IRA Ani Treaty tried to occupy the property in 1922 and the property was owed by American singer song writer and pianist Tori Amos from 1995 until 2019.
Many Albums were written at Ballywillam House when it was turned into a residential recording studio, videos and photographs for the album Night of the Hunters were also taken there.
Spread over three floors, the property boosts eight large bedrooms and six bathrooms. There is a large lounge with a large fireplace, a dining room.
The house is airy and filled with light, it has tall ceilings and extraordinary twelve over twelve sash windows. A curved cantilevere staircase with a spectacular oriel wedding leads to the upstairs.
The property is situated on two acres. For the children there is a fifty-foot climbing frame, football pitch and an outer building containing table tennis and foosball table.
To the rear of the house is a courtyard with original cut stone walls containing a large heated gazebo, with a dining table and relaxed seating area.
A path leads through the woodland to the magical waterfront and a drystone seated theatre and fire pit, with a pathway leading to a further heated gazebo with the most amazing river views.
