Very comfortable home. The stairs are a bit steep but manageable, the bedrooms are very comfortable (with windows on the lake). It would be nice to have screened porches (I believe they used to be screened), since it was mid-March there were hardly any mosquitoes however. The kitchen is well equipped. Our stay was short but very pleasant. David is the best communicator!
Charming little cottage by the lake. We were in town for a family wedding over a weekend . But enjoyed our time in between. Owners were super friendly and helpful. Would definitely like to come again when we can spend a whole week.
Very happy with our stay here in the lake cabin! Super clean, plenty of room, and we will definitely keep this in mind for our future stays in the area.
We stayed here a week and we enjoyed everything about this home, the neighborhood was very quiet, we enjoyed going out on to the decks at any point of the day and fish right off the dock.
Quaint and nice. The hosts were great. Communication was easy and they kept a check on us throughout our stay. Location was great! We had a great time. Would definitely stay again if we make it back to this area.
10/10 experience. The perfect place for our small weekend getaway. Owners were very helpful and communicative. Place was so cozy and welcoming. The only thing that wasn’t a huge problem for us but maybe for others is the ceiling height. Other than that it was a great experience would absolutely stay again.
Our stay was only 2 nights but wish we had longer. The property was clean and well stocked for our needs. The beds were very comfortable. We loved sitting on the deck with our coffee watching the activity in n the lake?
Nice clean lake cabin for our weekend get away. Enjoyed sitting on the deck and playing games at the outside table and kitchen table. Had everything we needed. Friendly owners.
We loved the cabin. We didn’t get to enjoy the cabin as much as we would like because we had to be on the go a lot. The accommodations were great. We loved the views and the ambiance was phenomenal. Thank you for the lovely stay!
Had a great time everything was very nice and David was very accommodating thanks for everything

About the host
Hosted by David Berdeaux
When we bought our lake house (gg’s Place) in 2006, we met our beloved neighbor Margaret Dodd. At first glance we saw a frail, stooped, 90 year old woman but we soon learned she was much more than that. At 90 years old and living on the lake, we never saw her without being dressed, full makeup, and heels! She would meet us on Friday afternoons with fresh baked cookies, strawberry pies, and other assorted goodies. We spent hours rocking on her porch and listening to tales of the old days on the lake when moonshiners would “run” their stills just up the creek, or a seaplane would land on the lake and bring friends to visit. She told stories of how she taught her grandsons to ski “right off of the beach” and how her late husband Garvin would go fishing early in the mornings and she had a full breakfast ready for him and the other fisherman that would “drop by.” She even had a story of how as an Eastern Star Matron she was once locked out on a balcony at the Governor’s Mansion and had to shimmy across a ledge in an evening gown to get to an open window and climb back into the mansion. We never dreamed that one day we would have the privilege to own her home with its rich history. We purchased the home in the fall of 2016 and have been working and adding our touches to Water’s Edge ever since.
