About this property

The Longere Sleeps 5 (2 Bedrooms)

Spacious accommodation retaining many original features including beamed ceilings and a wood burning stove.
Ground Floor:
The lounge has open plan accommodation, a dining area with seating for 4 and a fully equipped kitchen with a cooker/grill/hob, washing machine, micro-wave, coffee maker, toaster and electric kettle. The lounge area has comfortable seating for 4 people, with French and English television, a DVD player, internet connection and a CD/radio/cassette player. There are large double- doors leading to the private south facing terrace.
First Floor: Both bedrooms are south facing, one double and one twin room (two single beds). There is a large bathroom with bath/shower. The hallway has a full-length window overlooking the courtyard. A child safety gate has been fitted at the top of the stairs. We offer a third foldable bed (190 x 90) and a child's cot.
Outside:
Garden furniture and a barbecue are provided. There are extensive garden/lawn areas surrounding the property.
All bed linen, towels and tea towels are included.

The hamlet of Crec’h Mordo is 1.5km near to the Medieval town of Pontrieux which is situated on the estuary/river Trieux and is close to many beautiful beaches from 20 mins drive. The cottages have been renovated to a very high standard and offer comfortable accommodation. The town and its port offer a wide selection of restaurants, shops and a weekly market. Extensive grounds with badminton and games on site. There is electric heating for the colder months and with Internet connection offers comfortable all year round accommodation. Both properties are fully equipped with a downstairs kitchen/ dining and lounge area, (with a sofa bed in cottage), and upstairs bathrooms. The Cottage has a large double bedroom, the Longere 1 double and 1 twin bedroom. There are private south facing sun terraces with garden furniture and barbecues. Children's games, beach equipment and toys are available.
There is English/ French TV in both properties and internet connection.

Good location

Clean, comfortable property in a perfect location for exploring the local coastlines, small islands and local towns and villages. Pontrieux (5 mins drive) is a gem in itself, with a good supermarket, too. Janet and her family were helpful if we needed anything, otherwise unobtrusive.

Fantastic family holiday rental

We had a fantastic two week holiday in this immaculate property set in beautiful grounds - quiet and relaxing but within walking distance of the town which was stunning and had plenty of bars, restaurants etc to keep us entertained. The cottage had everything we needed (including WIFI for two teenage children!) and was in easy reach of some stunning coastline. Janet was brilliant - very welcoming - and provided us with loads of information about places and local events which she thought we would enjoy. Comes highly recommended. Thank you Janet and Michael for making such an effort to make our holiday memorable and for the very warm welcome.

Thanks for this great holiday in the Brittany!

If you are looking to wind down and discover the Brittany then this is the best place I could imagine for you. We are just back from our family holiday (3 kids - 14, 16 and 18) and I will say that we had had a truly wonderful time. We felt great and slept awesome in this romantic house (stone and wood). The garden is just a somewhat beautiful place to relax, have a glass of french wine or play badminton (which we did more often that I would have thought after our initial arrival). The only thing that is even better than this truly unique property is the warmth and welcoming nature of Janet and her son Jeromy. They made us feel welcome from the first minute we arrived, supported us with great tips for things to see (thanks!) and activities (thanks again!) and were always available for any question or support. If you are looking for some wonderful memories from the Brittany I can highly recommend this. I hope this review was helpful - in any case - enjoy your holiday! (btw. - Janet and Jeromy speak english fluently which was very very helpful for us due to our poor french)

Das Haus war in einem sehr guten Zustand und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Ferienhäusern mit Kamin standen immer Holz, Kleinholz, und Anzünder zur Verfügung, so dass wir bei kühlem Herbstwetter gemütlich Zeit am Kamin verbringen konnten. Sehr praktisch war, dass sowohl Spülmittel für die Spülmaschine als auch Waschmittel zur Verfügung gestellt wurden. Bei Ankunft hat die Gastgeberin Brot, Milch, Orangensaft, Butter, Marmelade bereitgestellt, so dass der Urlaub ab der Ankunft ganz entspannt begonnen hat. Das Außengelände ist fantastisch, es gibt ein Volleyball/Badminton-Feld, eine Tischtennisplatte (jeweils mit Schlägern), eine Schaukel für Kinder und Sitzgelegenheiten vor und hinter dem Haus.Besonders möchte ich die Herzlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft der Gastgeberin hervorheben : Sie war sehr zuvorkommend, hat wunderbare Tipps für Ausflüge in die Umgebung gehabt. Jede Frage wurde geduldig beantwortet.Liebe Janet, wir möchten dir für die wunderbare Woche danken und werden sicher einmal wiederkommen!

Unser Aufenthalt war super schön. Wir wurden von den Gastgebern sehr nett in Empfang genommen. Wir haben viele Tipps für Erkundungen in der Umgebung bekommen, welche sehr hilfreich gewesen sind. Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön in der Nähe vom Pontrieux gelegen. Man kann sogar hinlaufen. Die Ferienwohnung ist sehr schön, man kann draußen Frühstücken oder Abendessen. Es gibt große Wiesen drumherum, ein Badmintonfeld und eine Tischtennisplatte. Unseren Kindern, beide Teenager, hat es ebenfalls sehr gut gefallen. Sehr ruhig. Ideal für Ausflüge an die rosa Granitküste.

Top week-end !

Nous avons passé un très agréable week-end end en famille dans la maison de Janet. La maison située à la campagne au calme est bien agencé , très propre ,bien équipée avec un jardin immense arboré où nous avons pu jouer au badminton, au tennis de table ou tout simplement bouquiner …. Un super séjour

Janet et son fils sont très accueillants et généreux. Le gite est propre et le lieu est juste waouw. Beaucoup d'espace exterieur, au calme. Les enfants ont adoré faire du ping-pong dès le matin ou le soir en rentrant. Des jeux de sociétés, livres et dvd sont également mis à disposition.

Himmlische Ruhe für gestreßte Großstädter garantiert

Nur die Vögel und manchmal ein Zug waren zu hören. Der Blick vom Haus auf die Bäume und das Feld war einfach grandios. Die sehr sympatischen Gastgeber waren sehr hilfreich beim Entdecken der schönsten Orte an der Bretagne. Ganz in der Nähe besonders zu empfehlen der Rundweg um das Château Jagu.

Sejour agréable dans un gite cosi, autour de la cheminee . Un séjour au calme

Charmante location. Accueil des gérants au top avec des conseils personnalisés pour les visites aux alentours, des petites attentions appréciables si vous avez des enfants (livres, jeux etc..). L'endroit est hyper calme et relativement proche de tout les endroits à visiter aux alentours. Le seul bémol de notre séjour à été un problème au niveau de la puissance de l'électricité ce qui a engendré quelques petits désagréments mais ce n'est en rien de la faute des propriétaires qui se sont confondus d'excuses à notre égard. Les quelques points à améliorer pourraient être : des rideaux occultants ou des volets au niveau des fenêtres des chambres pour ne pas être réveillés trop tôt par la lumière du jour et mettre à disposition un étendoir à linge intérieur. Une adresse à retenir et à réserver sans hésiter.

Tolle Unterkunft in einer tollen Umgebung

Die Bretagne ist immer eine Reise wert. Mit der Unterkunft hat man einen tollen Ausgangspunkt zu vielen Stränden und Ausflugszielen. Jennet und Mick runden das Ganze zusammen mit dem tollen Haus und Grundstück ab. Immer wieder gerne. Wir kommen wieder.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. We appreciated the great hospitality of the owners and the little touches like bottle of wine and bread and jam for our breakfast. The owners were very responsive to our requests and made daily checks to see if we needed anything. The cottage and surrounding area were perfect for a relaxing holiday in the countryside but also within short drive to many tourist sites in the Brittany region. The cottage had many games for our 5 year old daughter to keep her entertained and even a bicycle for her to learn how to ride it. Fun activities for the parents as well (badminton, ping pong).

a gorgeous place to stay

Who is looking, for a cozy, picturesque location to stay and relax, far away from stress and hectic rush, is here at the right place. The host family is so hospitable and helpful, but without being invasive. When we arrived at Saturday evening, after a long car drive from Austria, Janet surprised us with ingredients for a nice little breakfast in our house. After a good night sleep, she told us some remarkable ideas / insider tips to experience the enviroment (great villages / cities / castles / markets to visit, beaches to experience and restaurants to get to know). The garden is so beautiful and generous, but also in a very natural style. The reality of the house and its garden is even more beautiful / pitoresque than the pictures promise. In short a very lovely and hospitable place, truly worth to spend time there.

Attractive gite in a beautiful garden with lovely private outside space to enjoy the sunshine.The log burner was most welcome for the evenings and it was so nice to have a bath instead of a shower..The only negative really was the staircase - very difficult for taking up the cases and really had to concentrate in negotiating it. Could be a problem for children or the infirm.Janet was most helpful and enthusiastic about the local area and it was good to be able to check in earlier - and although we were able to stay on later we didn't know we could until after we were almost ready to go.!! Overall - a very nice stay.

Eine Ruhe-Oase im Grünen

Ein Grundstück im Grünen mit viel Auslauf- und Spielmöglichkeit, blühende Hortensien und Lavendel, Sonnenwiesen und Schattenecken, ein ländliches Ferienhaus mit guter Raumaufteilung, das unseren Ansprüchen vollkommen genügte, gemütlich und gut ausgestattet ist und Vermieter, die uns herzlich mit vielen Ausflugstipps und leckerem Willkommensgruß für die ersten Mahlzeiten empfingen und sogar noch einen deutschsprachigen Bretagneführer und Bodyboards für die Strandausflüge besorgten- für unseren Familienurlaub (vier Menschen und ein Hund im Juli) war es perfekt!
