Private and quiet cozy Chalet located on ski mountain. Sunny deck with a European flair, the Chalet is lovely in all 4 seasons. 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, on 3 levels sleeps 7 to 8. Open floor plan on mid level, bedrooms on upper and garden level.
Spectacular views, 2 decks, hot tub, 2 gas fireplaces, 2 tv's, WIFI, full kitchen and washer and dryer. gas grill. on main deck. All cotton linens provided. Flat easy parking. Relax and enjoy !

Great house in a perfect location

Beautiful home up on the hill. It has everything you need. Feels like a mountain cabin more than a modern home. It’s not quite walking distance to the mountain, but there is a quick easy free shuttle.

Great location, everything we needed

Very cozy and comfortable place to stay with everything we needed. The one thing to be aware of is that if you use Apple maps, directions will send you to a house about a block away. The folks said that they were used to getting knocks on their door - so double check the address! :)

Chipmunk Chalet

My family and I had a wonderful time staying at the Chipmunk Chalet. The home is adorable, well stocked, conveniently located and has an amazing deck to watch the sunset. I recommend this property and will be staying here again.

Cute Chalet in Great Location!

Cute chalet with awesome views in quiet neighborhood. There was surprisingly more room than what we had anticipated with sleeping accommodations on the 3rd floor and lower level. I loved taking a morning walk with the view of Steamboat Village and Sleeping Giant in the background. Even saw a moose the first day!

House with a view of the valley.

This was our second stay at this property. Some of the bedrooms were upstairs and another area in the lower level. Nice in case some want to stay up later or early risers can sleep in different areas in the house. The lower level is cooler also. The hot tub is private. We enjoyed our stay.

Great Location and Property

Our group had an amazing time staying here. Lots of room, easy accessibility to the mountain and close drive downtown. You can fit 8 people, but the house is really more suited for 7 adults. Margaret was very response to anything we needed! Highly recommend

Ski Time

We had an amazing stay! We had 4 adults and plenty of beds! The hot tub was amazing after a day of skiing. The kitchen was nicely stocked with any thing you would need. It did smell a little like dog when we first walked in, but we just sprayed some Febreze and the smell was gone. A nice mudroom to take all your ski stuff off. The beds were comfy and plenty of towels! Just a short drive to the slopes. The gas fireplaces were really nice. Definitely would stay again.

Great place for price

I think this was a great place to stay and location was nice. I wouldn’t walk to bus stop cause of steep hill and slick roads. Only thing I would suggest is bedrooms to have a tv especially staying with several families it would work better. It had great space and kitchen was well stocked. Beds were comfortable. Loved having the hot tub at night after a long day on the slopes. The views were amazing I would catch myself sitting up at night looking out the windows from upstairs bedroom.

Cozy and comfy

We stayed here for a long weekend with our grown kids and dog. It's well stocked with pretty much everything you need (could use more mixing bowls). The views are great. The kids enjoyed the hot tub. The place could use a good dusting but felt clean otherwise. It's on a quiet street and getting to skiing and hiking was very easy. We had no wifi the entire time, despite contacting the owner twice. The Natural Grocery in town was great for groceries.

Great Location-Needs repair

Location is excellent; however, the cabin is very dated needs repairs. Many of the windows do not seal properly, front door lock not working, furniture worn and dirty, bathroom ceiling stained, bedding and linens worn out. Would not stay here again.

Deep Clean and Maintenance Needed

Everything in this home needs a deep clean. I actually removed the bath rugs altogether because they were dirty upon our arrival. The wall of windows downstais could have been lovely but 3 of the 5 shades were broken in the down position. Kitchen sink windows don't function at all. Very poor lighting throughout. On the plus side, the upstairs deck was lovely. The fireplaces in the living room and downstairs bedroom were cozy and easy to use. Downstairs bed is very comfortable. Location is beautiful. Disappointed overall.

Great Steamboat Value

This house is a great value in Steamboat Springs. It is located on the hillside with a view of the ski slopes; away from town but still close to town. A new house is being built right next door but there is still privacy and a nice yard (though it was covered in several feet of snow during our visit!). The house is partially updated but what isn’t updated feels ‘right’ with the décor. Views out the master bedroom are amazing! There is some needed maintenance and a deep cleaning is needed but nothing that should cause hesitation to rent; just feedback to the homeowner so they can review with the caretaker. There are multiple burnt-out light bulbs throughout the house. In fact, the two light switches nearest the front door turned on nothing causing a bit of a struggle in the dark to find the next closest light. The toilet seat is wobbly/loose, the kitchen faucet sprayer is broken, the shower curtain has “shower pink slime” bacteria on it, exterior windows are dirty, DVD isn’t hooked up, grilling tools and a few more drinking glasses would be helpful and instructions on how to work the heating system would be helpful. Working with the owner was really easy; they quickly responded to our questions. We would recommend this house and will stay again in the future.

Large residential lot above condos. Quiet and private. We love Steamboat as a getaway for vacations and family gatherings. Every season is enjoyable, and has its own beauty and appeal. Steamboat has lots of great shopping, year round entertainment and restaurants. Special events through out the year are a featured attraction. Enjoy!

What makes this property unique

Private and Quiet, Chalet Chipmunk is unique modeled after a European Chalet with an old world ambience. Sunny and cozy with an 3 level floor plan for privacy. Fabulous views, 2 decks, private hot tub. Trout fishing, mountain biking, great skiing and hiking or just relaxing are all here.. In winter there is a free shuttle to the Gondola Base and to downtown historic Steamboat. Chalet Chipmumk is a real home in a private residential area, well above the noisy crowded condos.
We enjoy Steamboat year round with all its seasonal activities.
