Thompsons Arms is a place I would definitely stay in again.
Room 3 was a small home away from home for a few days. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge & bedroom and small but perfectly formed shower-room. Stuart was attentive and breakfast was delicious.

Work and Play
Came to York for a training course and stayed a few days to explore the area. Great facility to be independent/ self-catering and have a brilliant vantage point to either York or the Yorkshire Moors.

We enjoyed a relaxing weekend here after attending a 2-day course in York.
We stayed in a large double bedroom with en suite in the pub. The room also had flatscreen TV and sofa and was a warm and welcoming place to relax at the end of the day. It was very clean and comfortable and the en suite had a good power shower. It was well located for sightseeing and shops and lovely to be in the countryside. There were plenty of places to eat locally for an evening meal.

Very cosy, comfortable and relaxing.
Stuart was very welcoming. The small space had been used very creatively so that we had everything we needed without feeling cramped. It was lovely and warm (outside the weather was cold and windy) and very clean. The little courtyard is very pretty and we loved hearing the birds sing in the cherry tree.

Practically perfect in every way!
The cottage is compact, clean and very well stocked. All appliances worked well and a lovely strong shower. Stuart is an excellent host and any issues are dealt with promptly!
(So always ask first before posting negative comments) It's location is on a crossroads so be prepared for some traffic noise. (We took ear plugs and weren't bothered a bit) Excellent for people with mobility issues but too small for wheelchairs I suspect.
