Great accommodation and welcoming hosts.
The cottage had everything we needed for our stay including parking right outside. Breakfast was extra and was delicious. The hosts were so friendly and even drove us to the wedding venue and collected us for a small charge- well worth it.
Loved unique features of this old converted brick cart room with lovely cottage garden in the courtyard. Host Stuart is happy to share his longtime family story associated with the property which adds to the interest in staying here. Comfy bed & kitchen quite user friendly. Happy to recommend as good place to stay.

Nice clean accommodation
Friendly host, excellent accommodation for a couple of nights. Full English breakfast was lovely and a lovely touch with the hosts dogs popping in and out. Host’s offer of a return taxi to Sandburn Hall was great which we used on one night.

We enjoyed a relaxing weekend here after attending a 2-day course in York.
We stayed in a large double bedroom with en suite in the pub. The room also had flatscreen TV and sofa and was a warm and welcoming place to relax at the end of the day. It was very clean and comfortable and the en suite had a good power shower. It was well located for sightseeing and shops and lovely to be in the countryside. There were plenty of places to eat locally for an evening meal.

Thank You for your review.pleased you enjoyed your stay.
Stayed here two nights for a wedding at Sandburn Hall. Cottage was clean and comfortable. Close to road so bring ear plugs if light sleeper. Stuart ran us there and back to Sandburn Hall for a small fee. Excellent service.

Wonderful
What a superb, adorable, beautiful cottage we stayed in. The rooms were top notch, comfy, spacious and had everything you needed and more. The owners were so lovely, and even offered us a lift to the wedding venue. I have been very unwell (chronic pain) and to stay somewhere so welcoming, relaxing and easily accessible is a dream come true. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you!!

Very good …
Great location for the wedding we attended at Sandburg Hall. Stuart opened the bar for us to have a pre wedding drink, then .took us to the venue, and then picked us up (for a charge).
Breakfast was a full English and was filling. Private parking in the Cottages courtyard.

A really lovely stay! Lily and Stuart are lovely friendly people who welcome you in!
Booked The Thompsons Arms for one night on our way home from Scarborough, just to extend our time away a wee bit.
When we arrived, it seemed as if it was closed up, no signs to lead you to what to do and then a really friendly lady appeared!
She showed us the gate operation and then took us up to our room. It was a really lovely big room and had all the amenities. We had to ask about breakfast which was a wee bit strange, however, she took note of what we asked for!

Lovely little cottage for an overnight wedding stay.
We weren't able to appreciate the cottage for long as when we arrived we had a quick change and had to go to the wedding and stayed there and was leaving the next morning. However the time that was in there was a cute little cottage clean and tidy and would definitely think about going back for a few more days. Would have liked to have a few drinks in the pub too but we didn't have time. Ideal location for Sandburn Hall.
