Very relaxing, we would come for a holiday again.
The cleanliness of the accommodation, easy parking and situated in a beautiful setting.
The only small problem we had was with the kitchen sink tap, it's loose, the taps operate backwards, just try it!

A little gem of a place.
We stayed at Parsnip Place in Broccoli Bottom for 2 nights leisure break. Very nice rural location just on the edge of Manton. A number of different cottages are available, depending on the size of your party.

Friendly welcome; beautiful location; facilities just right; excellent experience!
Parsnip Place was just the right size for my wife and myself. It was clean, tidy and well looked after. The location was perfect for our short break by Rutland Water. Everything was near at hand, and we even saw the ospreys nesting near the Lyndon Visitor Centre.

A great experience in a delightful part of the country
The tucked-away peacefulness of the place. The proximity to significant locations in Rutland and nearby Lincolnshire. The homeliness and warm welcome of the venue. The fact that we should actually choose to spend evenings dining and relaxing at base rather than seek attractions elsewhere.

Delightful place to stay if you have dogs
Stayed in Parsnip Place, which is a quaint little cottage, ideal for 2 people. We also had 2 dogs with us, who loved the large garden area. The garden area is not secure but this is not a problem if your dogs are not wanderers. The owner’s dog also ‘visited’ us one morning. We came to walk the dogs at Rutland water and all car parks were within a few minutes’ drive and part of the main route only a few minutes’ walk from the cottage.

Very relaxing and convenient for lots of tourist venues.
This was 2nd stay in 14 months. Always difficult to find somewhere that is content to accommodate accompanying dogs. Minor disappointment that curtains over doors were missing only because replacements hadn't arrived in time for our arrival; but quick fix sorted by supplying us with clothes pegs to peg up towels instead.

Very comfortable but kitchen poorly equipped for self-catering
Although the accommodation overall was very comfortable, the kitchen was poorly equipped in comparison with the many other self-catering places we have stayed in.For example, other similar accommodation provides a pint of milk at least, and often a 'welcome pack'.There was not even a pint of milk provided and there was no salt and pepper.I don't believe it is reasonable to expect holiday makers to bring their own salt and pepper. No site map, so we did not know where the laundry was.

About the host
Hosted by Host
We a small team at Broccoli Bottom......myself (Sally Udale), the housekeeper Amanda Reid, our domestic helper Carolyn, my mother in law Mary who helps out and of course our lovely dog Teddy. He is a cockerdor but we call him cockeradorable! He is very child friendly and just loves to potter about!
Everyone asks where the name Broccoli Bottom comes from......it’s very simple.....we are very silly people!! We just want to offer clean comfortable accommodation in pretty surroundings at a competitive price. We are very flexible and do all we can to make your stay an enjoyable one.
We welcome many family get togethers, fishing, rambling, cycling and sailing clubs. We offer privacy for guests whilst being together all on one site. Whilst close to amenities and situated in the heart of Rutland, Broccoli Bottom is very private and offers peace and quiet.
