Stay was pleasant but shame that the Bistro was still closed.

We liked the location and that the cabin could take a dog. Decor was modern and everything worked properly. For us it was a shame that there no rugs on the floor so our dog kept Sligo g on the timber effect Lino floor. Also shame that there was no walk in shower, my wife could not get into the bath, can’t be only one with this problem.

Door locking

Had a lovely few days at the vineyard with my 2 dogs . Lodge very clean and well equipped. Just a couple of things front door needs adjusting difficult to lock and unlock .also the back garden needs a bit of attention to the garden and fence , had to mind the dogs didn’t escape . A little disappointed that the bistro was no longer open , it would have been lovely to of had a drink on the terrance and taste the wine from the grapes produced on the site .

Lovely lodge

The lodge was great for a short stay. It was disappointing that the wi-fi was not working, mobile network is weak in the area which made it difficult to research places to go etc and we had to drive out of the area to be able to get signal.

The staff were so helpful the vineyard tour and tasting was really informative and the tapas was lovely. The lodge was clear and a good size for 2 couples and 2 dogs. Perfect place to explore the surrounding area.

Fabulous location and accomodation

We had a wonderful stay at the end of June. The villa is fully equipped and the furniture and furnishings are comfortable and good quality. The view of the vineyard was beautiful. We also had a breakfast and lunch at the Bistro, the food was superb. I will be revisiting for the vineyard tour and wine tasting in the future. This is now my 'go to' place when visiting family in the area. I have nothing negative to say at all, although would be great if one night bookings could be made.

Lodge was clean, service was good and food was great when then the bistro was open, views amazing.

Nice clean lodge, spacious and comfortable, friendly service with good food during stay when the bistro was open! With great views of the vineyard it was very calm and relaxing. Unfortunately the bistro was not open all the times it said it was so Saturday evening was closed. This was a little annoying. We were on the vineyard tour with an employee who used to manage the site but now works weekends only, he was very negative about the wine, about the facilities and made the tour about himself

Amazing lodge and location

Absolutely loved our stay at the lodge. It was the perfect location for visiting local sites. It was very clean and modern, was great to have our own kitchen to cook our own meals. Loved the bench outside that looked out over the vineyard.

Lovely lodge with stunning views

Very neat and well appointed lodge for a weekend break. Nice secure garden for the dogs and lovely views over the vineyard. The kitchen and bathroom were sparkling clean and modern. I particularly liked the wine fridge! The staff at the bistro were incredibly accommodating on our first night with wine and tapas when we arrived after a long journey with hungry kids and dogs. There’s even dog parking at most tables in the restaurant!

Restful, Peaceful

Peaceful surroundings, helpful and friendly staff. Food and service at the Bistro is very good. Lodges are well equipped and, spotless. Nice base to explore as much of Devon if you wish, or even a walk into Teignmouth through the countryside. This is our fourth stay at Old Walls and, will definitely return again.

Old Walls Vineyard was established in 2002 by Mr & Mrs Dawe to produce German grapes for wine production, just like the Romans once did some 1500 years ago. The vineyard has been family run since then with Paul (Mrs Dawe's son) taking up the resident vintners position in 2018 when Old Walls was bought out by investors to allow the Dawe's to retire and enjoy the vineyard. However, Mr Dawe is still heavily involved in the winery side of the business and can often be found in the winery labelling bottles and also still hosts wine tours regularly.
