The birthplace of Charles Darwin, Shrewsbury also boasts Shrewsbury Abbey, founded in 1083 and home to the fictional Brother Cadfael. Shrewsbury Castle, an impressive sandstone building in beautiful gardens and grounds, houses the Shropshire Regimental Museum, while Quarry Park is home to the annual Shrewsbury Flower Show. Fabulous Large Property

Great, well stocked property for a large group/family holiday. Very quiet location in the countryside. Access is via a long track but this was not a problem. Some of the bedrooms have open bathroom/toilets in them and one does not have a shower but this was not a problem either. Highly recommend this property and would definitely consider staying here again in the future.

The house was literally in the middle of beautiful Shropshire countryside. Stunning views. The rooms were large and roomy so kids had space to play without getting under the feet. The play room with basketball hoop was a big hit. Large well accommodated kitchen with separate large dining room making cooking and eating easy when catering for 14. Everywhere was clean and nicely presented. Excellent comfy bedding. All in all, a fabulous family holiday let with space and large socialising areas aplenty.

A fantastic place to gather

This property is really in the country side with not a lot around and small country lanes to get to it. The place itself has everything you need. It’s clean and well decorated. There’s a lovely huge range oven and really nice rooms. A log fire… I can imagine the games room might get very cold in winter. It’s a great place to see the stars on a clear night with no city glow. One watch put, not everyone can have a hot shower in the morning so make sure you stagger those. Sykes cottages were great with communication and no hidden charges. Would recommend.
