About this property

Sand Waves - Beach Access

This exceptional home offers expansive ocean and dune views with comfort, sophistication and style. The artfully decorated open concept living area includes a modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances, sleek granite counters, and breakfast bar. There is a large custom table with high back chairs for a memorable meal and comfortable seating for relaxing in front of the gas fireplace. A row of floor-to-ceiling windows offers open views of the shoreline and Ten Mile dunes, from every room in the house.

All three bedrooms have king size beds, their own designated bathroom and double sliding glass doors with those amazing ocean views. Each door leads to the spacious deck that extends the length of the home and offers a gas barbecue, hammock & outdoor dining. Here, right at the back door, you may enjoy the salty sea breezes as well as the awesome views as you listen to the soothing sounds of the surf. Just a short stroll (less than 500 feet) will lead you to the staircase accessing the beach below.

Although Sand Waves is pet friendly, please note that it is limited to dogs only with a maximum number of no more than 2.

Ocean Retreat

House was very spacious and well set up. Kitchen was well stocked. Beds were comfortable. Location was very nice neighborhood was quiet. Access to the beach was not easy if you don’t do a lot of stairs but great access to a beach that is a short drive away.

The house was perfect for our family and we lucked out on the weather. Far enough away from town in a small quiet neighborhood with plenty of room, cooking utencils and you can tell it is well taken care of. We will definitely be staying here again!!

Reviewer Comments: We had a fantastic time and were able to use the kitchen for daily meals and to celebrate our Christmas holiday with our family and new granddaughter. They were only small problems. The biggest issue was the hot water. The property offers a large soaking tub in the main bathroom however there’s not enough water to even partially fill the tub. We’re not sure whether the water heater is too small for the large home or if they simply aren’t turning it up to heat enough water to fill the tub. One other problem, the central heat did not work in the bedrooms, no matter what we did.We all agree it was one of the best short-term vacation rentals that we’ve ever stayed in. But my son and I are big soaker and this was one of the reasons why we rented this vacation home and it was unfortunate that we were not able to soak in a hot bathtub as we had really been looking forward to it.

Very nice home, lots of windows, spacious rooms and very clean. We didn't do any cooking, just coffee in the morning but it definitely has a great kitchen. It rained mostly, but with all the windows we didn't feel locked inside.

Everything from the layout of the house, which was exceptional… Master suite on one side of the house, other bedrooms on the other. Very generous, living space and gorgeous deck. 3 minute walk to the beautiful beach. Although it would have been good to know about the steep stairs and all the driftwood at the bottom that we had to climb over! The house was very comfortable and felt like a home not a vacation rental. Plenty of seating space and a well appointed kitchen. Stunning views from every room. Comfy hammock on the deck and a very pristine hot tub.

Ocean view home

The interior home was very clean, spacious, had newer appliances, and had large windows with nice views. The deck had enough seating for many. The bathrooms were good size too. They provide coffee and creamer. The cons is that they don’t provide shampoo or conditioner. The exterior front house needs updating. There were multiple abandoned wasps nests attached to the house. Luckily we didn’t see any bees or wasps but not something you want to see. Overall I would recommend due to the proximity of the beach. It does require walking up and down multiple stairs which a few of our guest couldn’t do due to knee issues.

Property management was very responsive with the hot tub power issue - it was fixed immediately so we could enjoy the hot tub the rest of our trip. If you are a group/family that likes to unwind at night with a movie or tv, definitely bring some DVDs to enjoy as Netflix or any other streaming entertainment weren't an option with WiFi. RedBox in Fort Bragg became our daily stop! We will definitely visit this home again!

Missed the little things

Overall the property is in a great location and the house is nicely done on the inside but everything else was done on the cheap. The pillows are just plain awful and there are no extras, there is no shampoo in any bathroom, 2 of the 3 mattresses are old and very uncomfortable. The living room furniture is about 10 years passed its useful life and the wifi only covers half of the house. If you plan on cooking you will need to buy and bring everything, all they keep on hand is the minimal spices. The checkout 'to-do list' is extensive/excessive and makes you wonder why a cleaning crew is needed. The big picture hits on this house but the small things that make a house feel like home are a huge miss.

We were a group of 5 mom’s who got a spouse and kid free weekend with the most enjoyable weather and house. The hot tub with the ocean views was fantastic. The hot tub was warm and in great working order. The house was exceptional, it was modern meets coastal charm with hints of Japanese pieces. Each bedroom was spacious and comfortable. We loved the huge dining room table that we could all easily sit at to eat and play games. The check in and out process was incredibly easy. We loved the house so much we want to make the trip a yearly mom’s trip! I should add I’ve never been greeted before with treats like this home had, they even had treats for the dog and some toys (and the dog didn’t even come and we felt so guilty after seeing the cute basket they had left for him!) a major plus to the home was the binoculars and telescope to see the whales. The deck was and the ocean views you couldn’t beat, I ended up doing a barre class our first morning there on the patio. This home was amazing and we hope to come back!
