About the host
Hosted by Kai Manak
We procured the property months before the Covid lock-down and had the pleasure of spending the whole lock-down living at the property with the whole family, children and grand children. The building has an amazing positive energy which is evident from the second you walk through the doors; Perhaps generated by the Denny family who resided here for approximately 40 years or the vast number of nuns that prayed here on a daily basis - we'll never know!
However, it is a joy and honour to see the reactions of guests when they first arrive and tell us the photos do the building no justice and similarly when they leave heavy heartedly and expressing an emotional connection to the building.
Being able to open the history of Garmoyle House to guests and share the experience is a privilege.

Why they chose this property
The grounds around the property are extensive, a little wild and very peaceful. The surrounding area is similarly quiet and relaxing. Leven Grove public park is very well maintained, a stones throw from the rear of the property and a terrific jogging route. The building and grounds offer stunning views over the Clyde estuary.
Dumbarton is basically the gateway to the Highlands, whilst being positioned only 20mins drive from Glasgow city centre and airport, an equally timed drive in the opposite direction, travellers would find themselves at the shore of Loch Lomond and the beginning of a hilly terrain that leads to the Hebrides!

What makes this property unique
The history of Garmoyle House and its affiliation to the town of Dumbarton and Scotland's history of great ship builders makes the building unique and stand-out from other standard newer buildings. Whilst the mansion sleeps up to 15 people, each person could quite easily find their own space from the rest of the party if they so wish to do so.
