The property is 3 levels so be prepared for stairs. We ended up leaving our luggage on the first floor. The property is conveniently located to the Giardini water bus station. The neighborhood, while quiet at night, does have restaurants, a grocery store, and other amenities close by. The owner was very responsive to us and very helpful.
My only issue with this property is the mold in the first floor bathroom and the surly cleaning lady who kept coming back to yell at us in Italian and kick us out even though we had made arrangements for a late checkout.

Dear Janet, thank you for your review. It was a pleasure welcoming you and we are glad that you appreciated the apartment, the neighborhood, the apartment, and our hospitality. However, we are sorry for the misunderstanding with the cleaning lady.
We really hope to welcome you again in the future. You’re welcome at anytime and I hope to see you again!
The location was perfect for us as we were going to the Biennale. The street is very quiet and there's good food shopping nearby and it's very convenient for transport. In the summer with windows open it might be noisy in the back and on the terrace as the house next door is also let and has an outdoor terrace. The house is decently equipped in a simple good elegant style, the beds were very comfortable but there were no drying up cloths and no instructions for how to work the dishwasher or anything else and some of the mosquito screens were broken. Also, with a quality rental such as this, I think all the beds should be made up (you never know people's sleeping habits) and there should be two pillows per person not one! We were three, my husband and I slept upstairs in the king bed and the third person had to sleep on the sofa bed in the entrance hall to be near the bathroom . Older people need their own bathrooms! We ate in every night and the cooking equipment was fine for simple meals but there were hardly any serving dishes or cutlery. The living room was agreeable and comfortable so it was a very pleasant place to come home to relax in. I would certainly return though the bedroom arrangements are such that it would suit a family better than a group of friends.

Dear Natalia, thank you very much for taking the time to write a review on my apartment, it's always nice to receive guests' suggetions and feedbacks and to be able to improve my job thanks to that.
I'm also very glad that you enjoyed your stay, loved the location of the property, its proximity to the Biennale and to the vaporetto stop and the neighborhood full of little nice restaurants and typical food stores. I'm happy that you found our beds very comfortable as well.
I'm sorry about the little issues you had during your stay.
I hope to have the possibility to meet you again in the future, you're welcome back at any time.

About the host
Hosted by Federico
We are a Venetian couple who for several years have loved meeting people from all over the world and making Venice and its most beautiful and characteristic aspects known. If you want we would like to spend some time with you to tell you about the city and maybe give you some advice on things to see, the most hidden places and maybe some nice restaurants where you can taste the traditional Venetian cuisine.
Why they chose this property
La Maison Valentina is a very welcoming apartment with the characteristics of a family home that will welcome you with the warmth and color of the Venetian houses of the Castello district. The small private courtyard and the terrace are priceless and will allow you to spend unforgettable moments. The house is independent and this will grant you, even more, privacy and confidentiality. The proximity to the Giardini Della Biennale will allow you to reach the exhibition in a few minutes. The small traditional trattorias are superb and will prepare fish for you in accordance with the most authentic and traditional Venetian recipes.
