About this property

A Rural idyll .

Barn End Cottage is a beautiful peaceful retreat with picture windows looking out onto a gorgeous garden and uninterrupted views of the countryside . It is only 3 miles from Canterbury and a short distance from the coastal towns of Whitstable , Deal etc . For active holidaymakers walking , running and cycling are literally on the doorstep .

The cottage is a self contained part of a large Barn complex set in 3 acres . It is tastefully decorated and welcoming with lots of beams and character . Guests have their own large patio but are welcome to enjoy the grounds .

An alarmed garage is sited next to the cottage should customers wish to store bikes etc .

Please note that it is with sadness that I cannot accommodate children under the stated age or dogs . There is a wildlife pond which is not secure and have no system for keeping dogs contained within the grounds.

Our first time visiting the UK.
We had a pleasant stay and the owner is welcoming and friendly. She even gave us great tips for visiting London. The holiday home is in a very beautiful setting with a magnificent garden. I can definitely recommend this holiday home. It was our first time visiting the UK with our family and it was a pleasant introduction.

Beautifully tranquil and a perfect place to relax
Wendy's Barn was homely, clean and welcoming, just perfect. Everything you could need was provided with some extras. Prior to our booking Wendy was extremely accommodating to our extra needs. Wendy was welcoming and attentive but also left us to our selves, the grounds are beautifully maintained and full of wildlife, you can walk freely and enjoy the gardens. There are local walkable rural paths close by. A short drive from Canterbury and the coast you can have the best of both worlds. We will definitely be recommending it to friends and returning. Thank you Wendy for a lovely stay.

About the host

I’m Wendy and am looking forward to welcoming you to Barn End Cottage . It is part of a Barn complex which I own , the cottage is where my lovely Mum lived . She died recently but I am now renting it out . At least 15 % of the rental time is given free of charge to a charity she supported .
I do hope that if you come you will enjoy it . As I live next door I can help make your visit a success . I have a house stocked with those things you may have forgotten or herbs and spices you did not expect to be using .

Why they chose this property

My Mum used to say that the view from her windows when the lambs were frisky were worth “millions “.

Hopefully the photos show you why .

What makes this property unique

Bird song , million dollar views . A pianist or musicians retreat .
