About this property
Tranquil Cornish cottage hideaway with huge garden
Nestled in the Ruthern Valley, Mill Corner offers a spacious retreat from the busyness of life. The cottage is located in a cluster of five other cottages next to a working farm. It boasts a huge private garden, sun deck and its own parking space. Surrounded by acres of countryside, woodland, rivers and wildlife, the area offers so much to explore. As well as the rolling hills of the valley you have the Cornish coast as your playground with its endless sweeping beaches and dramatic coastal path.
Mill Corner is perfect for grown ups, children and dogs alike. With it's enchanting private garden, pooches can play freely, kids can camp and make dens in the summerhouse whilst the adults are able to enjoy a glass of wine and a barbecue on the sundeck.
After a day out exploring the cottage offers a welcome sanctuary with its cosy log burner, 43 inch Sony smart TV with Freeview Play, Netflix etc, super fast BT fibre broadband, fully equipped kitchen, big comfortable beds and Egyptian cotton towels. The valley benefits from barely any light pollution so couples can enjoy a bit a stargazing to the backdrop of owls and nature's melodies.
Layout.... Mill Corner has it's own key safe. Private entrance consists of french double doors. Entrance hall provides plenty of space for boots and coats. A bookshelf of reading material and games greets you on arrival. On the ground floor you will find a large master bedroom with double french doors that open out into the garden. A set of stairs lead you up to the top floor where you will find the second spacious bright bedroom. It is arranged as a twin but can be made to a double on request. Both bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. An extra toilet is located off the upstairs hallway. From the hallway you enter into an open plan living/dining/kitchen area. There is plenty of space for 4-6 people to dine. Kitchen comes fully equipped with electric oven/hob. Fridge freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. From the dining area double french doors open out onto the upper deck area giving an indoor/outdoor dining experience. Alternatively, enjoy the full alfresco experience and take your mealtimes out into the garden.
Heating is electric with the added cosiness of a log burner.
Dogs welcome. First dog no charge, second dog £20
The cottage is an 1800's converted mill that used to be part of a working farm. Tregawne Farm located next door is still a fully working dairy farm so don't be surprised to open the doors to be greeted by the local cows also enjoying their breakfast! Mill Corner really is a rural retreat so your nearest town is Wadebridge which is 10 minutes by car. Supermarkets deliver to the cottage so it might be an idea to stock up with a delivery for your first day. Gorgeous river walks and picnic spots are a stones throw away but if you want to venture a little further you can walk/cycle the Camel Trail or ramble The Saints Way that runs from Fowey to Padstow. Surfing and bodyboarding beaches are 25 minutes from your doorstep heading north or check out the southside where seas a calmer for a bit of tranquil paddle boarding or fishing.
Newquay airport is located within 25 minutes drive.
Roche Station is located within 12 minutes drive.
