About this property
Peaceful location a short walk To One Of Frances Most Beautiful Villages
Situated on a quiet lane, The Old Barn has 4000m² of mature gardens with views of surrounding countryside. From here you can enjoy a walk to the picturesque medieval village of Saint Jean de Cole – one of France’s Plus Beaux Villages, with its restaurants, shops, Chateau, historic church and Tourist information office.
Opening the French doors takes you to another world. Fresh air and birdsong, flowers and trees wafting in the breeze – take in the view over the gardens from the patio, relax and sip a glass of wine in the shade of the parasol, light up a barbecue and dine “en plein air”.
When it’s time for bed, upstairs there are two large bedrooms to welcome you to slumber - a double bedroom with shower room and views over the garden plus a twin bedroom with bathroom next door which has a shower over the bath.
The light and spacious ground floor open plan area provides the lounge, dining and kitchen areas with modern appliances and comfortable furnishing sitting alongside typical French décor and ornaments . The dressers are stocked with all the equipment and utensils you may need. There is private gated parking. Inside, the thick stone walls keep the cottage cool in those hot summer months.
Oak beams, exposed stone walls and chestnut wood floors are featured in the bedrooms which have antique wardrobes and dressing tables. The Barn has a new flat screen TV with UK free-view and French channels and Wi-Fi. It has its own entrance and outside seating area to the rear.
Our house and The Old Barn are separated by a section of the original Barn and outside, a hedge and garden gate, allowing privacy from the other section of the property. Each has its own access to the lower garden.
Wandering around the garden, you may want to pick some fruit from the trees in the orchard or just sit on the lower garden terrace with a glass of your favourite tipple and listen to the fish jumping in the lake. Watch out for the Sammy the red squirrel, the deer, coypu and myriad of different birds that pass by the garden from time to time. Enjoy ! We will be here to welcome you and will always be close by if needed.
