Brecks Farm - From what used to be a working farm and livery, Guy and Tracey have converted this much loved family property into a small development of 5 beautiful cottages, with an eye for detail that ensures your every comfort. Having previously been a joiner, Guy has put his skills to great use, including the bed heads in the master bedrooms that have been meticulously made by hand - this can be seen in so many of the finishing touches in these lovely holiday homes.

Well Cottage - The first to be completed and ready to accept guests. It is a lovely 1 bedroom property boasting great views of the countryside from the bedroom windows that are a joy to wake up to! The downstairs is cosy and comfortable with places to sit and dine both inside and out. The well equipped kitchen has everything that you need to prepare a sumptuous meal, tasty snack or preparing a BBQ treat!

For those cosy nights in there is also wood burning stove, perfect for curling up with a glass of wine and a film, if of course you don't fancy venturing into York which is a short 10 minute drive from your country retreat!

There is a car charging point in each of the 5 cottages at the farm, the points are a 16a designated supply accessible with a standard UK 13a three pin plug.

Guest's are more than welcome to charge there cars but we ask that they leave in the cottage a contribution towards the cost of the electric used.

Perfect stay.

Excellent hosts

I’m very pleased to have stayed here for a work trip. I would ideally like a two night option too, if possible. The groceries were absolutely fantastic and so gratefully received, I don’t always remember to buy breakfast items so the eggs and loaf were perfect.

Well Cottage

Comfortable, spacious cottage with all modern conveniences. Lovely welcome pack of eggs, bread, milk and apple juice. Quiet location with a rural outlook so close to York. We even had some sheep outside our door!

Gorgeous cottage with everything we needed!

We had a fantastic stay, the cottage was everything we needed and more! The welcome pack was a lovely surprise and the cottage was so peaceful but also handy for exploring York and the surrounding area. Communication from the owners was brilliant and whilst we didn’t need anything, it was nice to know they were near if we did. Thank you Guy and Tracey for a lovely stay, we would highly recommend the cottage for a short break away with your own space and lovely surroundings :-)

A lovely stay in an excellent property in a lovely and peaceful Location

Beautifully presented property in wonderful location, with everything you need. Bread, milk, eggs and a bottle of Brecks Farm apple juice provided along with tea, coffee etc. Very clean and well maintained property. Personally I found the bed to be far to soft and the quilt to be far to heavy for summer, hence only a 4 out of 5 for comfort. Would I stay again, yes definitely.

Super cottage & location

Super cottage & location. We had a lovely 4 night break at Well Cottage. Beautiful cottage with high quality fixtures & fittings. Everything you need for cooking - utensils, pots, pans etc A welcome pack of fresh farm eggs, bread, milk, butter, jam, tea, coffee, etc Farm setting, fun to watch the sheep & have a little stroll to the duck pond. Only 10 mins from York city centre. Love the availability to book any start dates & for as long as you want. Thank you for a lovely stay & well done to owners Guy & Tracey. We will definitely be back

Highly recommend

Clean, comfortable, convenient, safe. Beautiful and relaxed setting just minutes from remote parking for the bus into York if you're interested. an easy drive to Haxby - which had everything we needed as far a shopping and restaurants. Eggs, milk, bread, butter, juice - all made for a perfect light supper when we arrived after a long day on the road. We were able to do some laundry. Enjoyed bird watching. Just a lovely stay overall and would definitely stay again

Great holiday cottage

This cottage is an excellent place if you want to explore parts around York Close to York and also very close to main travel routes but has the feel of being completely out in countryside Could look out of bedroom window & see ducks on the pond/ hares in the field in front / owls in the tree at night Lovely well equipped cottage with an at home feel Everything was there that you needed & more Sat out on patio every night & had a bbq qpwhich was provided ( including coals) Welcome pack of milk bread eggs butter & their own homemade apple juice Met the owners who were very friendly This cottage was one of 5 rental properties & the owners house but all were very private so you didn’t feel overlooked A very special place to stay & very good value for money

An amazing place!

We return to Brecks Farm every time we visit family in York for the simple reason that it is the best place ever. The owners make this a very special place to stay in so many ways - and they even lay on glorious sunsets over the fields! We will be back again very soon - as long as there is a cottage available. A more than 5 star experience.

Fabulous cottage

Fabulous cottage in a great countryside location, yet only a few miles outside of York. Beautifully furnished and decorated. There was even a decorated Christmas tree in the lounge area which was lovely for our December stay.. The owners were were very friendly and helpful, and the “welcome pack” was so thoughtful - with a Christmas feel to the contents. A wonderful place to stay.

Wow this place is so nice, we stayed 3 nights lovely and clean & wonderful log burner for those chilly nights ( log burner was also ready to light) nice selection of goodies for when we arrived ( thank you ) We didn't get to see the owls but could hear them, we hope to go back earlier next year. It is always a joy to stay at Well Cottage. We have stayed many times and hope to return as often as possible. It is our 'go-to' place in Yorkshire. What more can I say? The hosts are a delight, and the cottage is a gem.

Relaxing and comfortable stay in Well Cottage

Beautiful accommodation set in peaceful, farm setting. Lovely Welcome pack which was extremely thoughtful and saved having to shop on our first day. A nice central location for exploring Yorkshire Moors and Dales. Thank you Brecks Farm for a wonderful stay.

Gorgeous cottage

This is one of the nicest cottages we've stayed in. It was immaculately clean and well equipped with everything you needed. Loved the extra touches, welcome pack of teabags, coffee, biscuits, milk and butter. Especially liked the prosecco we were given on New year's Eve. I would definitely recommend these cottages and we will definitely stay again. 5 mins from park and ride, and another 6 mins on the bus into York.
