A deceptively spacious, three-bedroom, semi-detached property, occupying a quiet position on a peaceful cul-de-sac. This is a newly decorated and appointed home with modern, stylish furniture and décor. It lies just a short walk from the town centre of Pickering, which boasts many cafés, shops and pubs, as well as castle ruins and a museum to explore, and easy access to country walks, cycle paths and the coast.
An entrance hall on the ground floor leads into the cosy and welcoming living room, which in turn opens through to a dining area with sliding patio doors on to the garden. The dining room is bathed in light and invites you to enjoy the sunshine with the option of al fresco dining in the warmer months. There is a separate well-equipped kitchen adjoining the dining room, where you can delight friends and family with hearty home cooked meals, using fresh local ingredients. Also on the ground floor is a separate toilet. On the first floor are three bedrooms; a double, a large twin and a room with a small double bed, all with good storage space. You also have a great sized family bathroom.
The property faces east and has a sunny and sheltered rear garden which looks out onto farmland beyond. This property also benefits from a lockable shed and off road parking on a private driveway.
Pickering is a wonderful base for exploring the North York Moors and the nearby coastline. It is a pretty market town, with the popular market taking place every Monday. A steam train winds its way from Pickering over the rolling heather, through valleys and over hills to many picturesque villages all the way to Whitby on the coast and is ideal for a special day out; in December it becomes a themed Christmas Santa Special. One of the highlights on the calendar in Pickering is the annual War Weekend, where battle re-enactments take place and live music can be enjoyed, the whole town seems to slip back in time.
The surrounding North York Moors is a haven for walkers with many trails to explore and an abundance of wildlife. Dalby Forest has a choice of trails for cyclists as well as walkers, whilst thrill seekers have the Go Ape zip lines through the treetops. Nearby is Malton, the food capital of Yorkshire, recently described as a “foodie’s heaven”, with a market, award-winning restaurants and a cookery school. Castle Howard is one of Britain’s finest stately homes, sure to fill you with awe. There are also the beaches at Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington nearby to explore, the nearest only 18 miles from Pickering. And Flamingo Land theme park and zoo is a real treat for children, just a 10-minute drive away. Beach 18 miles.
