Visiting Lisbon for a romantic getaway? Or planning a short break with your family of 4? This super cool 1-bedroom apartment is just right for you. Not only because of the apartment itself, but also because of the fenced patio furnished with table and chairs. In other words, the perfect setting for a leisurely breakfast or a candle-lit dinner when the weather is hot. Or, if you’re travelling with children, the perfect spot for them to play safely.
What’s more, it’s next door to some of Lisbon’s most iconic national monuments – São Jorge Castle, São Vicente convent, the National Pantheon, Sé Cathedral and others. Heaps of history, culture, tradition and great places to eat. Beautifully decorated and spacious, the apartment is also really comfortable. Wooden ceilings, rugs, decorative panels on the walls, some 50’s furniture and bright turquoise cushions are part of a living room which will make you feel completely at home. This is a really great apartment – especially if you fancy being surrounded by style. What’s more, the kitchen has the huge advantage of your being able to cook while supervising your children playing on the patio. The modern bathroom includes a shower
2 min away from the entrance to the castle – whose fascinating history and panoramic views make it a must on any sightseeing list - this apartment is part of a magical quarter where time seems to have stopped. This is a place with a unique blend of colorful tiled façades and old-time cafés; of typical buildings with clothes hanging from balconies alongside nooks and crannies where you can catch glimpses of the blue Tagus; of slippery steps and dead-end alleys brightened by hanging bougainvillea. This maze of narrow streets, seldom disturbed by traffic, is the perfect spot for a bit of photography, so it would be a crime not to bring your camera with you.
But if you prefer to spend a leisurely day in Alfama, there’s plenty to see. Apart from the lovely cobblestone streets and sightseeing, you can walk to viewpoints from where you can enjoy the changing light of the Tagus with a glass of wine in your hand; or you can sit for hours in a restaurant eating fresh fish, enjoying the sun and experiencing Lisbon’s true soul; or simply browse round little souvenir shops and buy apples and water from quaint local grocery stores.
The apartment is within walking distance of many famous sites: two minutes from the famous 28 tram stop (this is one of the best ways to enjoy some of Lisbon’s best sights) and from São Jorge Castle and the Sé Cathedral; 10 min from the Fado Museum, the National Pantheon (where the Portuguese royal family and world famous Portuguese are buried), the convent of São Vicente de Fora and the grandiose Praça do Comércio and downtown Rossio square; 25 min from Avenida da Liberdade, the aristocratic Chiado and the alternative Bairro Alto. Of course, you’ll also have to explore Belém – the museum quarter. So hop on a bus or tram and spend some time there. There’s loads to see in Belém!
Nearby – less than a 12 min walk - is Terreiro do Paço metro station (even less - 10 min - if you take the castle elevator that links Costa do Castelo to Rua dos Fanqueiros). Bus 737, which links the castle to downtown Lisbon (Praça da Figueira), stops at the apartment door. The metro network reaches a good part of Lisbon, including the airport. Metro and buses will take you to Cais do Sodré train station, which serves the beautiful Cascais and Estoril summer resorts (around 40 min), or to Rossio train station, from where you can reach Lord Byron’s beloved town of Sintra (about 50 min).

Overall good enough. Contact with staff was helpfull. Would be nice to have a miror other than bathroom. Both futon lack confort. Carefull breakers shut off when dishwasher on.
Great one bedroom apartment near St. Jorge Castle with delightful outdoor courtyard area for enjoyment during nice weather periods.
Owner and local property manager both very accommodating and attentive. Located in historic area where Ubers can’t drop you at the door, but most tacos can.
Would recommend for couple or small family( one bedroom).
We enjoyed our stay. The apartment is spacious and in a great location very close to the castle. We could walk all over town from there. We stayed for three weeks and worked from home. The sitting room is large enough for two people to work together. Everything about the apartment is great except the terrace which is always in shade, so the furniture gets green and the artificial grass is a terrible mistake because it is dirty and wet.
Checking in was a breeze as we were met by Nuno who was excellent with showing us the apartment and answering questions. Location was pretty good to get around although description of location threw us off as the ad read: Facing the entrance to the castle. It did not face any castle. The castle is down the street behind the building! A 6-8 minute walk! Still very easy to walk to but misleading if you think you’re going to be looking at a castle your whole stay. The only reason we booked the apartment was that it faced a castle and that it had a washer and a dryer. Well it didn’t have a dryer that was misleading as well. There was a metal rack to hang clothes on not a dryer machine. So sadly the two main reasons we booked didn’t work out. The apartment was comfy, quite warm and the AC wasn’t great but thankfully they had a huge fan we had on most of the time. The windows face the street and are very close to where people walk by! It was surprising how close! But the windows and wooden blinds made the apartment quite dark and cut out all the noise so we slept well. Unfortunately the bedding was quite lacking. The bed was a king size and only had a sheet on it with a decorative thin blanket near the feet. Nothing warmer. In the cupboard we found a duvet, but it was only a single and no duvet cover was on it. We also found a larger duvet in the upper cupboard but you had to be 8 feet tall to reach it! Spare pillows had no covers either. Checkout was easy as Nuno was there.
When I arrived, Nuno, who was the house host greeted me with a smile and he helped me with my luggage and he met me at the door with the Taxi. The minute I walked into the property, I fell in love with it. It was so clean and so cozy. The beds were comfortable, and everything was so wonderful. Paula, who is the manager and owner of the property was so nice and communicative. I have back problems and a recent knee surgery and I asked Paula for some extra pillows and she delivered a brand new huge pillow so I can elevate my knee. The electricity was turning on and off due to a faulty dishwasher so they tried to fix it and then unfortunately it wasn't fixed and so they brought in a brand new dishwasher. I love staying there and I would Definitely advise to stay there again. It's in the middle of everything. It's a seven minute walk to the castle. And it's located by a street elevator that takes you down to the street to the grocery store into many restaurants and shops. I was even able to walk down and get a massage at a local spa. I highly recommend staying here.
