A *PET FRIENDLY* fully furnished, Folly Beach vacation home that's close to everything on the beach! Ocean is directly across the street - convenient access. Only 2 blocks to Folly Beach's shops, restaurants and pier. The home was specifically designed for your vacation with a vaulted great room, elevator, friendly kitchen and 4 sets of French doors spanning the front of home to maximize the view. Large front covered porch with hammock, BBQ & patio furniture. Sundeck for private sunbathing.
This elevated home has a large fenced back yard that is perfect for pets. (Our Great Dane and his playmate visit in the off season and they love it!).
Why this home over others at Folly Beach?: This home was specifically designed for your vacation! The owner chose the lot and house plan with your family in mind. It's on the West side of Folly Beach where there's less traffic and noise, but only 2 1/2 blocks - easy walking distance - to the restaurants, shops, pier, etc., on Center Street. The home is 2nd row with direct access to the beach. We are PET FRIENDLY and have an ELEVATOR (great for easy unpacking and settling in after a long trip - or for any guest not able to climb stairs) and a fenced in back yard. The home is also great for anyone using a wheel chair, with extra wide doors to one master bedroom, bathroom and shower. And , unlike front beach and most 2nd row homes on Folly, this home has wonderful parking. There is room for 3 cars under the home and room for 5 more cars on the driveways. Also unusual for a Folly vacation rental is the fenced in back yard. It's shaded by the house - a great place for everyone to relax out of direct sunlight.
Sunbathing with sun burnt friends? You'll love our combination sun deck and covered porch. It's large enough to spread out and get just the right tan. And the trees surrounding it add some nice privacy from nearby homes. For guests who had a little too much sun, the covered part of the deck provides welcome relief. Hang out on the patio furniture or in the hammock and recuperate without missing any of the conversation!

Robert Melton's construction company built the home in 1999 specifically for vacation rentals. His business partner at the time was handicapped and suggested making the home handicap accessible, which was a great idea.
Why they chose this property
The home is on the less traveled (west) end of Folly Beach and is directly across from the ocean, with public beach facilities and a handicapped public beach access. It is also just 2 1/2 blocks from Center Street and the Folly Beach Pier, which is a perfect walking distance from the home. Out of range of nightclub music yet close enough to easily walk back and forth to the home as often as guests like.
What makes this property unique
This is an elevated home with an elevator and a fenced in back yard. Pet friendly, well cared for and with a sundeck for sun lovers and a covered porch and hammock for friends and relatives who'd prefer shade. With one of the few 'street to street' driveways on the island, there's plenty of off street parking under and behind the home, which is at a premium on Folly Beach. All this at about 1/2 the price of an ocean front home; this home is a great deal!
