LOCAL AREA

Westbourne is a popular holiday location situated between Bournemouth and Poole and is an elegant district of Bournemouth located on the way to Poole and known affectionately as 'The Village', offering a mix of design specialists, beauty stores and delicious delis, pubs and child-friendly restaurants. Alum Chine beach is nearby and is hugely popular with families due to a pirate-themed large adventure playground, toilets with baby changing facilities, RNLI lifeguard stations, pubs and ice cream kiosks. From Alum Chine beach you can take a peaceful stroll through the exotic woodlands which takes you to Westbourne Village. A short drive from the property brings you to Bournemouth centre itself which offers high street shops, theatres, an Odeon cinema and restaurant complex 'BH2', restaurants, bars and entertainment for the whole family. The walk along the Promenade underneath the cliffs or along the beach to Bournemouth Pier is always a popular choice. An alternative walk is along the clifftop taking in the magnificent vista across Poole Bay. The land train runs along the Promenade, from close by the bus terminus at the foot of the Chine, to Bournemouth Pier and to Boscombe Pier beyond. Seasonal open top buses will take you into Bournemouth and Poole. If you walk along the Promenade in the other direction towards Poole you will come across Branksome Chine which offers yet more sea and sand.

Great house for a 4 generation holiday
We were looking for a property suitable for 9 people ranging from 4 to 88 years of age, this house was great for us. My mother managed the stairs with a little assistance. I think that mealtimes would have been cramped with 15 people staying. It was really useful having the bar and games room as well as the sitting room - there was always somewhere peaceful when the children were playing. The children loved the garden, even though the squirrel stole some of the Easter eggs hidden ready for the egg hunt! My 4 year old granddaughter wanted to know if she could live in the house all the time. We were really lucky and had 3 sunny days, it was a pleasant walk to the beach along the footpath through the woods. A great family holiday!

What makes this property unique

The area has a host of award-winning restaurants, bars, clubs, theatres, museums and cinemas, as well as countless attractions and places of interest.

With its ponies, protected natural beauty and thousand years of history, the New Forest is Bournemouth's back yard and for those of you of a literary bent, Thomas Hardy country is just a few miles away (Bournemouth being Hardy's Sandbourne). Continuing the themes, the tranquillity of the nearby isle of Purbeck was the inspiration for Enid Blyton's Famous Five adventures.

Add to that the National Trust sanctuary of Poole’s Brownsea Island and the historic charms of Christchurch and its famous Priory and you have the perfect backdrop for your holiday - with accommodation from Bournecoast being the cherry on the cake.
