Nestled in two acres of mature woodland on the edge of the New Forest, this luxurious retreat boasts breath-taking views over Ringwood Forest and is perfect for families, friends, or couples seeking a tranquil escape.

Hello, I’m Timo, your dedicated host during your stay at Viipuri, a holiday home steeped in history and charm. For over 45 years, we have been welcoming guests to this enchanting sanctuary, and I’m excited to share what makes it so special to our family.
Nestled on land originally purchased by my Great-Great Grandparents in 1904, Viipuri is surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of Ringwood Forest. They planted the stunning trees and vibrant Rhododendrons that grace our grounds today, and even laid a full grass tennis court where our main lawn now flourishes. This lawn has a rich history, having been ploughed for potatoes by the army during the War. Nearby, a World War II Army Pillbox stands as a poignant reminder of those times.
In the 1950s, the Forestry Commission planted majestic pine forests to the north, enveloping our property in a serene woodland atmosphere that beautifully complements the Finnish style of our log cabin. The story of Viipuri continues with my Grandfather Richard, who married my Finnish Grandmother, Helena, and in the 1980s brought a piece of Finland to Ringwood by importing a classic log house, aptly named Viipuri after my grandfather’s birthplace in Karelia.
In 2025, we completed a meticulous renovation, elevating the entire house to introduce a brand-new brick-built ground floor. Our goal was to blend contemporary luxury with the timeless charm of the original Finnish log design. Now, Viipuri spans three levels, featuring four patio doors that seamlessly connect you to the enchanting Ringwood Forest.
This home is not just a holiday retreat; it’s a cherished part of our family heritage. We invite you to join us as we celebrate the fifth decade of our service, creating unforgettable memories in a place that feels like home. The property is a beautiful forest retreat bordering Ringwood Forest, Forestry Commission Land which stretches all the way to Verwood and Moors Valley. Conveniently 200m to the north is the Castleman Trailway the old Railway Line now a cycle path and walking trail. Therefore our property is ideal for walks, dog walkers, and as a base to explore the New Forest and Dorset.
We are also conveniently situated close to the A31 / A338 junction giving fast access to the New Forest, Bournemouth beaches, and Poole Bay.
