Neighbour has access past for wheelie bins.. Thistle Cottage is a delightful little end of terrace cottage set quietly in the ever popular coastal village of Portpatrick. Thistle Cottage is beautifully decorated throughout and is the perfect base for a couple wishing to explore the area. The sitting room is spacious and the modern kitchen has everything you would need if you want to cook up a feast! With its comfortable bedroom and modern shower room Thistle Cottage really is a delightful little cottage. Portpatrick is one of the most popular villages on the coast and from Thistle Cottage a short stroll will take you to the seafront, small beach and picturesque harbour where you will also find some lovely pubs and restaurants where you can sit and watch the boats coming and going or you can take a fishing or sightseeing cruise from here. Walkers are well catered for in Portpatrick with spectacular cliff paths in both directions where you can follow the path past Dunskey Castle to Knockinaam or past several secluded bays to Killantringan Lighthouse. The walk from the village to Killantringan is the start of the Southern Upland Way. The village is a hive of activity throughout the year for guests at Thistle Cottage to enjoy from the RNLI Lifeboat week, the Music Festival, Farmers Markets and Craft Fayres to Vintage Truck Rallies. Being on the recently formed South West Coastal 300 a stunningly beautiful touring route throughout the whole region, Portpatrick is the perfect base for your holiday. With its stunning landscape the area is popular with artists, birdwatchers and nature lovers. Take a trip to Mull of Galloway, Scotland’s most southerly point, where you will find a fabulous lighthouse and the RSPB nature reserve. From here you will get the most amazing views of Ireland, England, Isle of Man and Scotland, it really is well worth a visit. Warmed by the Gulf Stream, there are some delightful gardens to visit including the world renowned Logan Botantical Gardens and Glenwhan Gardens.
