About this property

Living Roof Log Cabin Overlooking Private Woodland

A stunning hand crafted log cabin, made from oak beams and larch cladding sourced from our own woodland. Kept extra cosy by the grass “living roof” above. Its nestled in beautiful Welsh countryside in a quiet valley looking over our 20 acre private woodland that you are welcome to walk around.

There is a large fire pit supplied with free fire wood to relax and toast marshmallows over. There is also a charcoal bbq and large picnic table to enjoy alfresco dining and an undercover area should the weather not be to favourable. To the fore there is a large grassed area to play games on or just to sit back and watch the wild life. Red kite, rabbits and every finch imaginable are regular visitors.

Parking is to the side of the property and there is space for 2 cars should you need it. There is no dedicated charging point for electric cars, if you have one please let us know and if you would like to charge it then please discuss a fair amount to pay for it.

Internally you can appreciate the hand crafted oak frame that this cabin is built around, it really makes the cabin that bit special. The large curved “jotul” wood burning stove with free logs warms the entire cabin and makes it so very cosy to relax and unwind after a busy day exploring!
There's a smart tv to watch your favourite film on with Netflix and a small selection of DVD’s supplied.

The well equipped kitchen won’t disappoint with Induction hob, oven, microwave, fridge with small freezer compartment, washing machine combined tumble dryer, and all cooking utensils you’d likely need.

The master bedroom has a very comfortable king size bed with ample storage for all your holiday belongings. The second bedroom has hand made bunk beds with a chest of draws stuffed full of family games to play in the evenings. There is also a small selection of toys, books and dvds for younger guests. The bunks are slightly shorter than standard and measure 175cm (5’9”) and are better suited to kids although we have had quite a few adults stay in them without complaint!

The bathroom has a luxurious walk in shower and free standing vanity unit and basin. The heated towel rail ensures warm dry towels.

Location

The cabin is in beautiful countryside down a quiet country lane approximately 15 mins drive North of St.Clears in Carmarthenshire. Its a great location for walking and exploring - The Preseli hills are a 15 miute drive aways and the famous pembrokeshire coast path about 30 minutes.

The Beaches of Pendine (famous for setting land speed records), Newport (an ancient port town of Parrog) and Llanstephan (with 12th century castle) are all about a 30 minute drive away. Slightly further afield are the stunning beaches of Mwnt, Penbryn (both in Ceredigion), Telpyn (Carmarthenshire) and Manorbier (Pembrokeshire) are all within 45 minutes.

A fun filled day out at West Wales tourist attractions of Oakwood and Folly farm are about 30 minutes drive whilst Heatherton and The Dinosaur park are 45minutes.

Wonderful few days
We had glorious weather which is always a bonus, but the cabin was fantastic, Andy & Hannah great hosts, and the surrounding area beautiful. Likely to book the same place again soon...

Magical log cabin in picture perfect setting with everything you need. Perfect.
I can't rate our stay highly enough. My husband and I and our 2 youngest girls 12. & 9 all had a wonderful New Year's Eve break. The cabin was lovely and snug, the log fire is wonderful with plenty of logs to burn. Everything you need from linen, towels, shower gel, toilet roll, kitchen equipment etc is already in the cabin. There is ample storage to store your belongings making use of the space. So much bigger in real life compared to photos too. The hosts are so friendly and had even lit the log burner, provided fresh bread, Welsh butter, beers and Prosecco on arrival! Beautiful walks on the doorstep and plenty to do in the house, Netflix, books and games for just relaxing in the peace and quiet of the cabin. Highly recommend and we can't wait to go again.
