Loved the views, the charm of the cabin, fishing was great! Nothing beats the call of loons in the evening while sitting around a campfire. A nice distance from Duluth to see other attractions if desired.
Our third time staying here and we hope it won’t be our last! The property is beautiful and so peaceful. It’s perfect for a quiet weekend away. We love the availability of the pontoon and used it a ton during our stay. They have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable, including a well stocked kitchen. Our only request is for more and better window treatments in the bedrooms to help the kids sleep in :)
We had a fantastic stay. The cabin was perfect for us. We had two 14yo boys and an old golden with us. The sunsets on the deck are incredible, the loons calling, the quiet lake, the fishing, the fire pit by the water, the pontoon, the kayaks, and paddle boat were perfect to keep us busy. We never really left other than to get some bait. Check in was simple and everything was fairly clean. The only real issues were the screen door on the deck was broken and did not stay on track very good and pontoon lights did not work so we could not go out on pontoon to night fish, but fishing off dock was good so no big deal. Plus the skeeters are insane at night so probably would not have lasted long any how on the water. Bring lots of bug spray in the summer, you will regret not bringing it. Everything about this place is about relaxation and fun. We loved every minute of our stay.
We really enjoyed the beautiful lake views and the wood burning fireplace. It was the perfect place to put down our phones and reconnect to each other!

Thank you Rebecca. We are glad you enjoyed the property!
Our family of four had a blast here. Easy drives to Duluth and Gooseberry Falls for adventure days and the property was clean and the perfect size for us. Top notch fishing and the pontoon was wonderful to have. Would definitely stay again!
We had a wonderful stay at this lake cabin. It was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. The location on the lake was perfect. The host was very responsive. We would definitely recommend it!
Beautiful cabin, amazing sunsets, and private lake. Highly recommend this gem of a getaway on the lake. Loved the location and easy access.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
The lake is beautiful —a true gem!Our group included five adults and two three-year olds and everyone had a great time! We brought kayaks and paddled all over the lake, as well as up Coyote Creek where we saw a mama loon on her nest. Fishing was fantastic as was lounging on the dock in the morning and fires at the built in fire pit in the evening. The little ones spent hours throwing rocks into the water and with water shoes comfortably wading in the shallow area by the lake-side deck. The cabin itself was a bit disappointing. The screen door to the lakefront deck was broken and non-functional, as was one of the futons in the living room. Everything could use a deep clean — even for a cabin — and normal cleaning between guests. Beds were comfortable with memory foam mattress toppers, and we appreciated plenty of sheets and towels.Sunsets were gorgeous and the at-the-lake vibe was wonderful and memorable, for our annual three-generation family time.
This cabin was beautiful, clean, and well-appointed. Check-in and check-out was easy, and communication with the owner was great. It was wonderful to hear the loons on the lake at night!
Oh my..the view of the lake was stunning! The property was a great location to nearby State Parks! A nice, peaceful location. We enjoyed every minute!!
We had a wonderful time staying at the Pequaywan Getaway. It’s a very cozy cabin with immaculate views. We stayed in the main bedroom and my husband and I were pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the bed was. I would recommend staying here as it felt like a relaxing escape from the real world!
Great lake and location. Cabin is footsteps from the lake. Boat rental was reasonable and well worth it. Caught loads of fish off the dock and from the boat.
Stayed for 2 nights and rented the pontoon. Kids (4 and 5) had an absolute blast! Nice accommodations, we would go back again!

We live in nearby Hermantown with our 3 school aged children. We bought the cabin so they could enjoy the lake life as they grow up. With busy schedules, we try to get to the cabin a couple times a month and we want to share it with others when we are not able to enjoy it ourselves.
Why they chose this property
The best sunsets you can find with nightly sounds of loons calling.
What makes this property unique
