It is a detached 3 bedroomed property built in provencal style, all on 1 level, with beautiful internal wooden beams and fireplace, and recently painted interiors.

The villa has been in our family for over 30 years and is primarily our home- so all the extra little items are there for your use.

We have several grandchildren of varying ages and the villa is suitable for children (we do have a number of toys, games, books and beach items for their use).

One of our family also has a lovely dog which comes on holiday too. So we do accept dogs to the villa but for a small extra charge. Obviously, we expect the dogs not to be left in the villa or in the garden on their own, and would ask that owners respect a dog free bedroom area please.

There 3 bedrooms for your use
A double with french doors leading onto the garden

A family bedroom with a double and a single bed.

A large double with shower in the room and a toilet and utility area adjoining. This bedroom has french doors leading onto the side area of the house.

All beds have good quality pillows, quilts (if required), and a linen set.
Also provided are towels.

The lounge is large with a separate open dining area and there are 2 sets of french doors leading onto the terrace and garden.

There is a 3 seater and a 2 seater settee , coffee tables, a large dining table and chairs. There is also a wine rack and drinks cabinet.
The tv is a smart tv and there is a DVD player as well.
We provide WiFi, and as it is a smart tv you can log into your Netflix, prime etc there is a HDMI cable for your use. For your convenience we suggest you bring a lap top computer to access live tv.

We have made a dedicated work space with desk and chair in the hall area ideal for working whilst on holiday.

There is a bathroom with bath, shower and bidet, and then a separate wc off the entrance hall.

There is a fully equipped kitchen (with new dishwasher, microwave, oven, hob, fridge freezer, slow cooker, coffee machine, air fryer, crepe cooker, liquidiser and portable grill, toaster) together with pots, cooking utensils and selection of crockery for your use. We also have wine coolers, decanters and plenty of glasses.

The kitchen leads onto the covered terrace with a large table seating 8.
The terrace is lit by a central light and white string lights if required.
( the geckos come out at night and provide us with such joy watching them trying to catch their tea)
The terrace looks onto the beautiful old olive tree, which is lit in the evenings.

The gardens are on 4 sides of the property, with many Mediterranean flowers, shrubs and cacti. The gardens are lit at night and the decking area has beautiful views towards the sea and islands.
There is a large gas bbq for your use, which has proved very popular in the last few years. The bbq may only be used in the open areas of the garden and not under terrace.

We have sun shades and sun beds for your use, and several seating areas to relax or to eat. Our lemon and lime trees are growing well and of course the mimosa flowers at different times in the year.
We do not have an irrigation scheme so ask our guests to water the pots if the weather is dry.

We introduced a hot tub in past few years and has proved very sucessful. We have decided to include the use of the hot tub in the rental price. Please note though the hot tub is only for use between April and October.
The hot tub is situated to the side of the property and has proved a great success with our recent Rentors, the area has lovely views, part astroturf and a yoga mat is available.

The area is lit and plastic glasses and extra towels are available for use with the hot tub. It is very easy to use and all the instructions and chemicals are there for your use. The water is changed before each rental.

Cavalaire as a holiday resort:

Cavalaire is unique in that it retains its French family resort. It is a village in its own right and all year the bars, restaurants and many shops are open.
Events taking place can be found on the Cavalaire web site or the St Tropez site. Both of these give information on special events and fete days, sporting events and general details of life in the 2 villages.

The coast around Cavalaire is rocky with pretty sandy accesible coves, although the 3 mile sandy beach of Cavalaire is beautiful. The headland to the east - Cap Lardier,is a national park and will never be built on. The walks around this headland are superb. Alternatively to the west at Le Rayol there is the marine national park, with scuba diving and snorkelling available and the most beautiful gardens. There are weekly musical evenings held at these gardens on a terrace overlooking the sea.

Nearby towns and villages, most are accessible by bus - its so cheap!

Isles d'Or and St Tropez:
The Isles d'or to the west of Cavalaire, are a group of islands accesible by ferry from Cavalaire or Le Lavondu. Levant is half military and half nudist, the second Port Cros is a national park with a beautiful tiny hamlet with restaurants - escapism at its best. The third Baghad is uninhabited and the fourth the largest Pourquerolles has a thriving village, vineyards and fantastic walking and cycling. Bikes can be rented for the day. The trip is well worth doing, but has to be reserved a day or so ahead in the summer.

To the east and west of Cavalaire there are many hill villages to explore, some rural and others like Gassin, easily accessible - providing the best views of the gulf of St Tropez .

Lastly, St Tropez has to be on the list to visit. It is a facinating place, expensive yachts and motor palaces alongside fishing boats. The shops are worth a look but just wander the streets and up to the fort and cemetry. The winter is great for exploring it. Tuesday and Saturday are the weekly market days and definitely worth a browse.

Cannes, Monaco, Nice:
Cannes has its film festival in May, and can easily be reached in an hour from Cavalaire.
Likewise Monaco and Nice are only 2 hours away and can either be visited as a day trip or with an overnight stay.

In October there are the “The Voiles de St Tropez “- a celebration of old j class boats, with daily races in the bay of St Tropez. What an event this is to see - fantastic fun to watch even if you do not sail yourself. The specific dates are on the St Tropez web site.

Westwards from Cavalaire, lies Hyeres and Toulon. Both of these towns are nice to visit and the airport of Toulon/St Tropez is only 40 minutes from Cavalaire and on a bus route. Toulon is also where the TGV stops.
The coastline is spectacular all the way from Cannes to Marseille. Although it is very easy to spend the whole holiday in Cavalaire and its near surroundings it is definitely worth visiting one or two of these towns. If you would like to go to Corsica, then the ferry leaves from Toulon.

I have had my holidays in Cavalaire since 1968! although Cavalaire has changed it has become a friendly village with bars and restaurants open all year. When I was a child we had to collect the ice in a straw bag from the man cutting the blocks of ice at the end of the road, so it has definitely changed for the better. The villa was originally my parents house, and now we spend a lot of time there ourselves, holidaying and gardening! Personally I love the beaches and sea. We snorkel and swim a lot and now I scuba dive as well. We hire boats for the day from the rental company in the village, always a wonderful day out.
Although it is easy to drive from england, we normally fly, either into nice or Marseilles- and then hire a car. We search the Internet for the best deals and do not find it expensive. Although not imperative it is useful to have a car for the holiday, some of the best beaches are a few miles out of Cavalaire.
We eat at home mostly, however we do love the variety of restaurants in the village, but we enjoy shopping in the local shops to cook a BBQ in the garden.
I love having my cafe au lait at the local cafes in the morning, after my early morning swim- such a treat to sit and watch the world go by!

Why they chose this property

The villa is only a ten minute walk into the centre of the village ( slightly longer back up the hill) but its situation allows a very peaceful stay with wonderful views. The garden we try and keep to a high standard, with a variety of Mediterranean plants. We love having our aperitif on the terrace watching the sun go down behind the Mauree hills, and then in summer, autumn and spring eating outside. The villa is traditional, so cool in the heat and warm in the winter. Although we are letting it successfully, primarily it is our home, and we keep all the useful items there that would be useful to visitors.

What makes this property unique

We use good quality linen and towels, we do nearly all the cleaning ourselves so ensuring a very high standard - cleaning products, soaps etc are always available. The garden is lovely, and we have focused on outdoor eating and relaxing. There is a beautiful large wooden hammock, as well as sun loungers for your use. A few years ago we made use of a corner of the garden that was not being utilised, and built a decked terrace which now has a set of outdoor chairs and table together with outside lighting. It has proved a great success and we use the area a lot ourselves. There is a full sized table tennis table and bats and balls for guests use.
A hot tub/spa- this is an intex 6 person spa and has proved very successful.
We keep a small amount of toys for use for the children in the garden and games inside. We welcome all children. We have a travel cot, high chair and child's toilet seat for your use.
In the villa we have many games, jigsaws, CDs, DVDs, Internet access, smart tv and a DVD player. We as a family love playing the traditional games when we are there, although the tv is useful if the weather is not at its best!
We continually try to update the villa and it's contents, and have a visitors book for any suggestions.
Last but certainly very important is the wifi.
The WiFi is fibre wifi and the router is in the hall where there is a desk and a chair for your use.

For winter stays there are electric heaters in each room but also an electric fire in the fireplace and 2 calor gas heaters which heat the rooms quickly. Unlike modern houses Provençal villas do not retain the heat so the heaters are instant heat.
Whilst the days are often blue and sunny it can still be a little chilly so we also provide extra blankets for your use. Please bear this in mind when booking a winter stays.
