AREA:
The area offers a rich and varied selection of national and international cuisine. Here are several recommendations, all within 200 meters of CASA DE LA LUNA: If you enjoy creative cuisine, right across the street is the Gastrobar (delicious!). At Corredera Baja 10, I recommend Maricastaña, and for a snack, there is the Italian Bookstore-Café in the adjacent building. Mediterranean cuisine with Arabic touches can be found at La Mucca de Pez, which has a lively terrace. There is a great Argentine restaurant, La Martina, in Plaza de Luna, offering lunch menus and a varied à la carte. For lovers of Indian cuisine, the daily menu for 10€ at ‘Curry’s’ (Silva, 16) is excellent. On the same street, there are several tasty Japanese and Chinese restaurants. If you prefer the Creole flavors of New Orleans, go to Gumbo on Calle del Pez. And if you’re into gourmet-style organic beef burgers, your place is Home Burger on Calle Luna, right by the plaza. The Malasaña neighborhood borders our ‘Soho’ and is full of fantastic restaurants.
GYM:
The trendy gym is right next door, in Plaza de la Luna. You can buy daily passes and enjoy its beautiful and fun panoramic terrace with a restaurant and cocktail bar. Also, check out the newly opened spa.
SHOPPING:
Gran Vía, Sol, Callao, and Preciados have traditionally been the most commercial streets in Spain. Fuencarral, now pedestrianized, has joined in the last decade for those seeking young fashion brands. Near the apartment, you’ll find many interesting and design-focused shops on Pez, Jesús del Valle, Corredera Baja, and Alta streets.
HOW TO MOVE:
CASA DE LA LUNAis located in the heart of Madrid. All public transportation is within your reach:
METRO:You can choose from several stations depending on your destination: Santo Domingo and Noviciado (Line 2), Callao (Line 5), Gran Vía (Line 1).
TRAIN:The closest stations are Atocha and Príncipe Pío. Both connect to Luna via the Metro.
PARKING:There are three very close parking lots: The cheapest is 50 meters away and called GARAGE LUNA, although it is located on Calle Pizarro 7. On the same street, but 170 meters away, is GARAGE PIZARRO, which is a bit more expensive. Both close at midnight. There is another nearby parking that is open 24 hours, located in the plaza, called PARKING TUDESCOS.
