Situated in the charming coastal village of Llwyngwril, with traditional stone cottages, a local pub, and a village store – Glasfor is Welsh for “The Blue Sea” making it a superb choice for those wanting to explore the local area and be by the sea. Offering a relaxing break by the coast for friends and families, Glasfor is able to accommodate up to four people. On the first floor you will find two double bedrooms with king size beds, one of which can be made into two singles for flexible sleeping arrangements. A family bathroom, with a shower cubicle. Downstairs the lounge has a fabulous fireplace with a wood burner. The kitchen/dining area offers everything you need for your stay, with a patio door leading out to the rear of the property with a small seating area with a sun trap in the summer.
The cottage is slightly quirky, with lower ceilings in some parts and uneven floors but this is what gives it it’s charm and showcases some of the original features. The owners have lovingly decorated the property to a good standard, accentuating those features. A pebble beach is only 5 minutes’ walk, and the sandy beach at Fairbourne is 3 miles away. A short stroll leads to the railway station, where you catch a train for lovely journeys through the superb scenery of Cardigan Bay, to the harbour towns of Barmouth and Aberdyfi, with a wealth of shops, pubs and restaurants. The harbour at Barmouth is beautiful and you can walk across the spectacular Barmouth Bridge spanning the river. Excellent walking, cycling, riding, golf and bird watching are enjoyed locally. With Bird Rock just down the road and a view of Snowdon from the beach. If you’re lucky you may even see dolphins swimming in the bay. Glasfor is ideal for those hoping to enjoy a coastal retreat, in Snowdonia.
