Just reduced for New Year - a perfect holiday home in Port Isaac, sleeps 4+dogs

Bosuns Locker is situated in a great location to discover true Cornwall as there are narrow, winding and cobbled streets that lead to the picturesque fishing harbour, shops, restaurants, watering holes and safe beach of Port Isaac. It only takes a short walk (approx 200 yards) from the apartment to reach the main area which is also alive with history and exciting things to discover including where the TV series Doc Martin is filmed (starting again this Feb 2022) and the well known Cornish group of singers, named Fisherman’s Friends, sometimes perform.
The property is a ground floor apartment found tucked away at the end of The Terrace. Upon entering the front door you are led into a beautiful lounge/dining area decorated in a nautical theme. There is a dining table to seat four and two comfy leather sofas for relaxation in front of the multi fuel burner. The lounge leads to a modern and well equipped galley kitchen area which also has a small seating area. There are two beautiful bedrooms within the apartment, one with a double bed and the other with full size single beds. The bathroom has a bath, shower, sink and w.c in.
Sip your morning coffee or dine alfresco on the shared courtyard outside the property, or enjoy the wonderful views across the bay to Tintagel from the large shared garden, perfect for a sundowner at the end of the day.

Pleasant Stay at Bosun's Locker in Port Issac
Property had all the essentials for our 5 night stay and was situated at the quiet end of a street that sits above the Port Gaverne road. The downhill walk into the harbor at Port Issac takes about 10 minutes along the coastal path with lovely views of the Cornish coastline. You also are close to the Port Gaverne road and can walk down there and out to the rocky point conveniently. The apartment itself has no view (we knew that going in) but access to an inner courtyard. The apartment was clean and adequately furnished - the functional type of furniture and accessories that you typically find in holiday rentals. Nice touch to have some biscuits, tea and coffee left for our stay. The bed in the master bedroom was comfortable. The Wifi worked well and all of the kitchen appliances suited our needs - particularly the washer & dryer since we had already been in the UK for some days and needed to do laundry. It was very nice that the apartment had its own assigned parking space, since parking is at an absolute premium. Overall, we felt it was a very good value and a good base from which to explore the area.

Good accommodation in a perfect location!
Well equipped accommodation in a perfect location. Parking space is a bonus. Ideal for a family of 4. Welcome pack with tea, coffee, milk and biscuits was appreciated. Was clean but a little more attention to cleaning needed behind the beds and whilst the linen is fresh the throws on the top need a spruce up! Would recommend as a place to stay. Port Isaac is one of our favourite places in Cornwall and just down the hill is Port Gaverne, the hotel does fantastic food as does Pilchards. Make sure you book all restaurants there and in Port Isaac to guarantee a table. Communication with the owner of the property was without issue.

The property was tucked away behind another house and was quiet and sheltered; unfortunately the only view was from the living room onto the shared courtyard and no views from any of the other rooms. For the size of the apartment it was well fitted out, but I would have liked some counter space in the bathroom (there was none) and some condiments in the kitchen would have been nice for the obligatory fish and chips (salt, vinegar, ketchup etc). Also some oil for frying, although the frying pan was in poor condition. I have given the rating that I have due to the fact that we were hurried out of the property on our check out day by two ladies banging loudly on the door at 10:10. They said that we were supposed to have been gone by 10:00 but the website said "before 11:00 am" which is what we were working to. We actually left around 10:35 but it was unfortunate that there was a lack of communication here and we were rushed out at the end.

Great location
Cute, quiet, clean apartment with great beds and wonderful location. The pots and pans were few though and in bad condition. No lids and no pot holders. Couches were old and not comfortable. It wouldn’t take much to make the apartment amazing.

The owner of this property has decorated this apartment in a nautical theme. It is modern, bright and has a nice fresh feel to it. It is looked after and cared for to a high standard.

Why they chose this property

Port Isaac is a fishing village and known for the filming of the Doc Martin series and Fishermens Friends. As well as this, there is a wealth of history waiting to be discovered amongst some of the cobbled streets. The scenery on a clear day takes your breath away. Shops, the beach, well known restaurants and pub are within easy access as is a stroll to Port Gaverne.
Port Isaac is also within easy reach of Wadebridge where you can hire bikes and cycle the Camel Trail to Padstow or Bodmin. You can even stop off along the way at the Camel Valley vineyard and sample some delicious wines.
The dramatic rugged North Cornwall coastline of Trebarwith Strand, Daymer Bay and Polzeath are close by with surf schools, cafes, bars, beautiful walks all of which will provide the most relaxing or adventurous memories to take home with you. The mystical town of Tintagel, home to the legendary King Arthur, is an easy drive from the property including the wizard Merlin’s beachfront cave. Rock is also nearby and here you can gain access to the ferry which can take you across to Padstow. This is another area that has become Cornwall’s food capital, thanks to its restaurants, seafood shops and connections to the chef Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth.
The south coast is accessible from the apartment and here, as well as the north coast, you will find stunning coastal walks to explore the beauty of Cornwall. There are many other numerous attractions to suit all tastes including The Eden Project, Bodmin Jail’s newly opened museum, Land's End and National Trust properties. Many children's theme parks are nearby too.

What makes this property unique

Firstly, it has allocated private off street parking to the front of the apartment which many of the nearby holiday homes are not fortunate to have. Bosuns Locker has everything needed to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.
A welcome book describing good eating and watering holes as well as places to visit is available at the apartment upon your arrival. This has been left to assist you in making wonderful plans to enjoy your stay in Cornwall.
