Thank you so much for your lovely comments about the property — we’re really pleased you had a great stay!
Just to clarify for future guests, we do send out clear directions with the key code, including a recommended route that avoids the narrower lanes — although many guests do enjoy the more scenic countryside drive.
As for the country lanes, while there are the occasional potholes, most guests aren’t particularly bothered by them. Like many areas across the UK at the moment, councils are struggling to keep up with road repairs due to the current economy, and unfortunately this is out of our control. That said, there really aren’t that many, and they don’t usually cause any issues for access. The hedges are cut later in August by the councils - due to bird nesting.
Thanks again for staying — we’d love to welcome you back! Margaret. :-)
Everything was as advertised on the listing. The cabin is a nicely furnished, cosy bolthole, situated in some lovely Devon countryside. The hot tub is a fun addition.
Margaret, the owner, was very helpful on arrival and very unobtrusive afterwards! She was also extremely helpful with flexibility over our arrangements.
Our kids loved the X box, which kept them entertained when the weather was bad.
The location is a great jumping off point for the South Hams coast and rivers, with Dartmoor on the other side. Yealmpton is a decent little centre, with a good pub and well-stocked farm shop and local store.
The outside bathroom might not be for some people, simply because it is outside - but it is nicely done and the underfloor heating and automatic light mean it's not too much hassle to use, even in the middle of the night.
The bed was a little soft for our liking but I guess it might suit others.
Overall, a really good experience and we would recommend the cabin as a pleasant base to explore the area - either for couples or a smallish family.
