Tales of the unexpected
The property, when we finally moved in (see below) was barely acceptable. Apart from the cockroaches and dirty kitchen area (a cleaner came in to do an extra stint), the balcony light needed an electrician (he came on the same day as the cleaner). The razor socket in the bathroom was hanging off the wall, and the shower head collapsed (we tied it up with some thread). The cooker extractor fan had no switch - working only when plugged in,(we didn't use it). The trim on the kitchen units was fixed by drawing pins and appeared to be burnt in places. Glasses needed washing before use. Bedlinen was two single duvet covers.
On arrival, we picked up our keys from the box with the code we'd ben given. The flat was on the 5th floor (not the 4th as we thought) but we assumed a management change as the 5th floor flat conformed largely to the description we had. The management office was closed by then so we were surprised to be moved the following morning to the 4th floor flat. It seems the wrong keys were left in the box with our code. Following many emails we received a refund of 150 euros. We would not book with VRBO again. Flat and the management were poor.
