About this property
Finest Retreats | The West Wing at Gypsy Hall
The West Wing at Gypsy Hall is a cosy and comfortable cottage with plenty of characterful features which is the ideal spot for a relaxing break. The cottage has a homely feel to it and its large gardens and quiet location make it popular with couples and young families.
With parts dating back to the 1700s, guests will enjoy the exposed beams, angled walls and plenty of charm! The open plan, kitchen, living and dining area make for a social space whilst cooking and relaxing of an evening.
The bathroom with the shower-over-bath as well as a separate WC are located on the ground floor, while both bedrooms are to be found upstairs. The low height ceilings on the landing and sloping eves of the bedrooms help create a quaint feeling to the cottage. The main bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom is primarily a single but a pull-out bed can be arranged to sleep a fourth if required.
The West Wing at Gypsy Hall is accessed via a short, rough track and lies adjacent to the owner’s home. There is ample parking at the front of the cottage for two cars.
The large garden is enclosed and has a handy summer house which can be enjoyed in the summer months. It is surrounded by fields and paddocks which are home to the owner’s beautiful horses. The local pub which also serves food is only half a mile down the road and within very easy walking distance.
The property is perfectly located for exploring the surrounding towns and villages which have plenty to offer. The nearby Newmarket offers lots of places to eat, drink and shop, and also has the famous racecourse which has a number of well-attended meets over the course of the year. Here you will also find free tours and The National Horse Racing Museum.
The popular University town of Cambridge also lies within easy reach - guests can wander in and out of the colleges when the students are not in town and in the summer months enjoy punting on the river.
Please note:
-Travel cot and highchair available on request.
-Strictly no smoking anywhere on the property.
-There is an unfenced pond in the garden, 150 yards away. Children must be supervised at all times.
-We welcome dogs, but please let us know when booking, and note that a pet fee applies.
-Please contact Finest Retreats for any extra information.
