About this property

Bellflower Cottage - Ashdown Forest

A traditional cottage set within the Ashdown Forest, Bellflower Cottage is a delightful country retreat full of charm and character.

The welcoming living room has comfortable seating for six with an inglenook fireplace and a wood burner at its centre, perfect for a cosy evening relaxing after exploring the many surrounding attractions.

The spacious dining area leads directly onto the outside terrace area - great for summer dining options! There is even part of the original wattle and daub wall remaining in between the living and dining rooms which hints at the history of the building.

On the ground floor you will find an easily accessible king size bedroom with an en-suite shower room, and on the first floor there are two further bedrooms; one king sized bedroom and a twin bedroom, both serviced by the family shower room.

There are delightful far reaching views from this floor which encompass the beautiful panorama surrounding the cottage.

Outside there is a great summer barbecue area available, with a large exterior table which overlooks the delightful gardens. If you stroll a little further through the fields you can also visit the lake within the grounds.

Free Wifi & Private parking available. Low beams throughout this property.

A cosy retreat
Bellflower Cottage was perfect for a NYE weekend getaway - very warm (we had to turn the heating down!), clean, well equipped (although we had to ask for loo roll and dishwasher tabs), beautifully decorated and so peaceful. The quintessential English country cottage! Gorgeous walks from the door and lovely outside space (which only the dog took advantage of as the weather was so wet!) We did struggle with the beams with 3 out of 6 of us banging our heads, but we knew from the description that they were there before we booked. So our bad! A lovely, lovely stay. Thank you!

Bucolic retreat
Not the easiest cottage to find since it took 2 attempts! However, once located we were thrilled to find picture postcard perfect home away from home. Clean, comfortable, and well appointed with nice outdoor space. Very easy access to local countryside.

Peaceful and picturesque escape to the English countryside.
The cottage itself is cozy, charming, and beautifully decorated, with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. From the well-equipped kitchen to the comfortable beds and stylish bathroom, everything was thoughtfully designed and impeccably maintained. The cottage also has a lovely private garden, perfect for enjoying a cup of tea or a glass of wine in the fresh air. But what really sets Bellflower Cottage apart is its location. The cottage is situated on Twyford Farm, surrounded by rolling hills, lush green fields, and picturesque countryside. It's a peaceful and tranquil spot, ideal for a relaxing getaway. And yet, despite its rural setting, the cottage is conveniently located just a short drive from the charming village of Horsted Keynes, with its historic church, traditional pub, and friendly locals. During my stay, I enjoyed exploring the local area, taking long walks in the countryside.Overall, I would highly recommend Bellflower Cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful and picturesque escape to the English countryside. The cottage itself is a true gem, and the surrounding area is simply stunning. It's the perfect place to unwind, relax, and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Autumn stay in Sussex with family
The cottage was a lovely place to stay in with family. Great location for local walks. Kitchen was ample for us to cook as a group of six. Nice wood burner and comfy sitting space. Underfloor heating was lovely. Quiet except for owls! A very enjoyable stay. A minor couple of points: it would be helpful to have a book/folder including all the house information in addition to TV stuff. Also the initial description should include the fact that upstairs there are 2 cross beams in the corridor which are only about 5' high - meaning you have to bend every time you go through. So beware.
